Made me laugh too. Since when is the market "free" when the government is directing what products the consumer is supposed to buy or not buy. Why are rebates or tax incentives even necessary or appropriate to get people to buy the government favored EV if we are in a free market, where market forces say what products survive and don't.
In 2009 Vice President Biden announced a govt. loan for half a billion dollars to Solyndra to make solar panels. 2 years later Solyndra filed for bankruptcy.
