After a long and successful career Sebastian Janikowski announced his retirement. My best memory of him and one of the best football games EVER in The SWAMP was the 1997 classic won by Florida 32-29. FSU was undefeated and ranked #2 while The Gators were ranked #10. The score was 26-25 Fl. State when the Gators stopped a long Nole drive and Janikowski kicked a F.G. to go up 29-25. But, what most remember is Janikowski rubbing it in by doing the Gator Chomp. I was there and saw it and thought, “You Dick!” Well we got the ball and it was Doug Johnson’s turn at QB ( Remember The Ole Ball Coach S.O.S. alternated him and Noah Brindise ) and he hit an open Quez Green for a long gain of over 60 yards of which I only saw the completion as the guy next to me was a maniac and he tackled me to the ground. ( luckily I was on pain medicine called Jim Beam ) Two Fred Taylor runs later we scored and after an interception we beat the hated Noles and sent Janikowski home a LOSER!!!! My voice was hoarse for a week after that. That is the Swamp we need to get back to.

It’s amazing that he never wound up in prison.

I think he came close. Didn’t he have some kind of situation with GHB or something? Hell of a kicker though. He had the biggest leg I’ve ever seen. Not really close either. He would kick 50+ yarders like chip shots and they would hit 2/3 of the way up the net.

Don't forget the $300 bribe he made to a police officer to avoid jail time for his friend on trespassing charges.
Bowden tried to tell us and the media that's how they settle out of court in Poland.

It would have been awesome if he had made that 76 yard field goal attempt when Lane Kiffin sent him on the field just to tick Al Davis even more.

Bowden should have told him you don’t need to bribe police in tpd. They’re already in the payroll. Football players are innocent even when they’re guilty

Janikowski was bald when he was 16 years old (supposedly). I played soccer against him, he had the hardest most powerful kick I've ever seen!

You should have dove at his knees. He would have done it to you

You must have been reminded by FSU's Darnell Dockett who did exactly that to Florida's Earnest Graham in 2001 - which might have cost UF the Tenn game/SEC title that year!

In that same game, Dockett also tried to stomp on Rex Grossman's hand!

At about the 8-min mark, you can see Dockett injuring Graham in the pile-up.

I remember dockett and his thuggery quite well. But then again when you have a team that takes pride in injuring opposing quarterbacks, or whose coaches write a list of names on the board before the game and those players shockingly leave the game holding knees or elbows... I remember javon kearse leaving a game holding his elbow after it had been twisted... or when a defensive player hits the opposing quarterback late in the national championship game and pulls his arm back before dropping him on that side, which is a move designed to dislocate the shoulder, and the announcers mention it during the broadcast (it was Oklahoma), why are we surprised at the crap that goes on down there. Also to all the noles who will whine about this, I’ve blocked you all. You haven’t won any argument just bc I don’t answer. It’s just that anything a joke says isn’t worth reading or responding to
