Their leading rusher is the QB, which should tell you something about their offense. Here's the question: Will we set up a defense that takes away the QB run, by keeping gap control and maybe spying him? Or will we run our regular defense then wonder why our DC DIDN'T do these obvious things you do when you have a month to set up a defensive game plan?

I'm having a tough time calling this game. If we play the proper defense, we should win fairly easily. But we have shown a weakness to running QB's this year and if we aren't properly prepared this game could be way too exciting for my taste.

To be honest, I truly wish right now that we had had another crack at Miami in the bowl game, considering how atrocious that first game in week 0 was for us. It was a win but it just doesn't sit right that we barely beat that smegging 6-7 team. Nobody is going to give us credit for beating Virginia anyways, so why not just have had a chance to go back and embarrass UM again?

That said, the only team that has anything to lose in this game is us. Everyone expects us to win so there's no recognition no matter how well we win, but if we lose, oh dear.... Typical trap game. We have come out flat in other games this year, and after a month of not playing, who's to say how we will come out tonight and play.

I'm going to hope that we win 41-10 though. That's about been my prediction this week and I think it holds.

Holy hell is mississippi state just crapping the bed bigtime tonight. Completely letting Leweeeville do whatever the hell it wants on offense and defense. Absolutely atrocious showing and the first embarrassment to the SEC this bowl season.

That was truly embarrassing for MSU to lose this badly to an ACC team that lost 10 games last year. Shouldn't even bother showing up for the bowl game if you don't want to play it.

Now we have to play Virginia that much better to salvage the SEC for today...

The conferences are closer than you think. You guys have a few more "top teams" but other than that its pretty even and that goes with most conferences

It should have never even gotten to that point. A million third down conversions on that drive all with the same soft ass coverage. You have to be incompetent to allow an offense to hold the ball for 8 mins.

I don't know if this says more about how worried I am about our own team, or just how good Virginia is playing compared to what I expected, but I am CERTAINLY happy to be going into halftime 24-14. For a moment there, it looked like the Trask fumble would be overturned and called a fumble and they could run downfield uncontested yet again and go up 21-14 on us.

I find our biggest problem in this game so far, is not that we haven't gotten their QB on the ground or such things, but that we haven't made him uncomfortable in the slightest bit. He's just moving about as if he's Joe Burrow and making impossible completions every single time he's running for his life. Basically he's not rattled yet and that means we haven't actually broken them as a team yet. Giving up that 2nd TD was rather demoralizing to me.
