Is a one year suspension sufficient?

Since the 7 suspended players who agreed to enter pre-trial intervention (six really...Callaway will be in the NFL) have missed the whole season, it seems that they should be good to go next year. A one year suspension is a strong punishment when the state has already agreed an intervention program that will likely result in dismissal of charges (assuming they complete the program satisfactorily).

You never know at the University of Holier Than Thou, aka the University of One Hand Tied Behind Their Back

You don't believe credit card fraud, which was at the felony level for some of them, warranted a year suspension? Not to mention that if it was perceived later by the NCAA as extra benefits, they would be declared ineligible and any who played would result in us vacating wins? Yes, I realize that turned out to not be much of an issue this year.

Would think Mullen might have something to say as to whether or not he would welcome such "Pillars of the community" to his football team.

Could be that he would demand higher standards of morality and character.

Time will tell.

Having the players sit out this year was absolutely the right call...question is, was the year suspension enough of a penalty?

For those of you really concerned with the young me and also concerned about the program, you will trust Mullen and the Admin to make the right call. I have absolutely no issue with them deciding a couple of these guys didn't have the proper remorse and haven't worked to keep themselves in good shape academically and athletically. But to want them all gone sitting in your Lazy Boy is incredibly short-sighted and judgemental.

How many will be on felony probation? That’s my concern because if it was you or I we would have at least a felony probation...

Pre-judgment is always the wrong place to begin.
Reasoned judgment is necessary, and it's required for long term success.
No judgment (blanket acceptance of entitled athletes) is just plain stupid. o_O

JMOHO's as always:
The upperclassmen would be expelled if I was making the decisions.
WR Callaway - on at least his 4th screw-up...
RB Scarlett - on at least his 3rd screw-up...
Those two would be GONZO for sure,,, in my world.

Now, who got this fraud started, (I've never seen that info posted anywhere) and who passed it along to the incoming brain-dead 'entitled' freshmen?

I would consider another chance for the Fr,,, but only IF they were now in the correct state of mind to learn and grow up to their responsibilities. IF NOT, they would be GONZO with the crooked honor-less upper-clansmen.

The 'entitled fans' that only care about their crooks and winning,,, will likely be all over me for my opinions. So be it, because 'peer-pressure' can KmA!

If some are allowed back they will have to start school soon I guess. My guess is just a couple return. I don't see Scarlett ever playing here again.

From what someone else posted, most if not all of them will be given an intervention program and get the crime expunged.

Were they also suspended from school? That would make academic progress very difficult to meet.

None of the K-9's were suspended from school, pending judicial outcomes.

Seven (7) of them were given and accepted 'intervention options' with charges dropped to misdemeanor levels. Two (2) remain with felony charges. IF found guilty, a felony means an automatic dismissal from UF.

Those with intervention must still go before UF's disciplinary board(s). Then Mullen will decide if they will be allowed back on the team, and under what conditions. At least that's how I understand things. Correct that info if needed.

We have plenty of talent at RB...when Davis gets healthy he's a freaking beast...he's just hard to bring down and for a smaller guy the way that he runs the ball is very impressive...we have Perine and others.

As to Scarlett Jr, already with at least 3 strikes against him, I don't want him back. It's nice that they also don't need him back, but that's secondary imo.

#12 RB Jordan Scarlett 5-11 206 rsJr (K-9 suspended)

#28 RB Lamical Perine 5-11 218 Jr
#25 RB Adarius Lemons 6-0 201 So
#26 RB Malik Davis 5-11 194 So
#10 RB Dameon Pierce 5-11 205 Fr - signed
#11 Ath Iverson Clement 5-11 199 Fr - signed (RB/KR/S)

I agree with you Insta...Scarlett should be kicked off the team...we don't need that kind of negative behavior and he's been in trouble several times. Send him packing.

Yep he is clearly better than Scarlett imo.

A better question is how long has this fraud been going on, and should games from prior years be vacated? Has this been going on this Fred Taylor?
