If what this article says may become reality, we are in for a whole world of _____.

... So what do I mean by “programmable” money? This means the central banks will have complete control over your money and will be able to program it so that it can only be spent on certain things or in certain places. For example, have you purchased too many guns or too much ammunition over the past month? Maybe you indulged in too much frivolous travel and blew through too much gasoline? The government could easily have your money reprogrammed to limit future purchases of such taboo items. The possibilities are endless.
What’s the bottom line? Once we get digital programmable money, where and how you will be “allowed” to spend your money will depend on your social credit score.
This money will be linked to everyone’s personal digital identity. The digital ID marks the other pillar of the new digital economy that they haven’t really told you about yet. But if you read their documents at the World Economic Forum, you know it’s coming...

This is the evolution of China's 'social credit score' system. Been warning about it for years here, every time I do the dems like @gator1776 and @Uniformed_ReRe say it's completely ridiculous and fear-mongering.

Ok.

At the present rate, within 5 years from now, every person here will have what they post online on sites JUST LIKE THIS ONE factored into their ability to function in society.

Want to buy groceries? Wait....it says here you posted something mean about the government on the 1st and Ten Florida website on Jan 23rd, 2021. So the price you pay just increased by 36%.

Keep saying it's fear mongering.

What is weird is that more and more businesses here are passing on the credit/debit card fees on to the customers.

One restaurant posted info that this being driven by their bank and that you get a "discount" for paying in cash. In the past this was just priced into the product/service as a given that people where going to use a card.

This used to be government and one business in a thousand and lately its everywhere.

We are going to start doing this in the next month or two. We pay between 10-15k a month in CC fees. We sell large ticket items (but limit CC transactions to 5000 or less.)
