Inside Access – Look at it this way.
Might we be in for an exciting National Signing Day in February? That would be something we have not watched in a while, like the old days. 😊
Couple of things going on, as you can see for yourself. The new guys want certain kids to do a workout for them to have an evaluation. I do not fully understand why they can't watch full game HUDL and make these same evaluations, but I am not making 8 Mil a year to make these decisions. This goes for specific UF commits and some uncommitted kids.
As you can imagine, kids with 25+ offers will not deal with this kind of stuff eight days before National Signing Day. This is why it isn't easy to know exactly how many kids will make OV's this weekend.
All these kids who have been asked to do this must do it before bringing them in for OV's. Again, I am only talking about certain guys, but the list is rather long and a bit surprising, in my opinion. I have only spoken to one committed player who says he will do this. He did not understand why they couldn't watch full game HUDL to do the evaluation, but either way, he will do it in the morning, he told me.
There are plenty of others on the opposite side of this situation. I was not sure Shemar James would let Napier and crew come into the house today without Christian Robinson being in the room. It looks like Shemar will meet with Napier this evening, and we will take it from there.
If they can get him back on campus this weekend, they could be ok, but if not, I can't see this working out for the Gators.
I do believe we can now move on from Azareyeh Thomas as much as it pains me to say. I am still holding relatively firm that we will see Devin Moore, Jaron Willis, and Nick Evers in the Swamp this weekend, but we need to take a wait-and-see approach with everything UF recruiting-related.
Coaching Situation:
Going kind of like you would imagine. Previous staff is doing zero recruiting – not speaking to any recruits because it's not their deal anymore. They are simply coaching and prepping for the bowl game.
I do believe we will see the new OL and DL coach both coming from the NFL. I spoke with a coaching buddy who says he talked to the next UF OL coach, so we will see how that shakes out. I spoke to another coaching buddy of mine in the NFL, and he told me these NFL contracts are Ironclad, so for fear of me naming these guys and getting in hot water, I will pass on that situation. He advised me not to mention names, and I will gladly take his advice. It might be a while before we hear these names mentioned until the NFL season is over.
