I also know this is the parking lot so forgive me because this involves SEC scheduling and a 9 game schedule in doubt with Nick maybe wavering support

Balance the scheduling and Saban/Bama are the biggest proponents of a 9 game schedule in the SEC.

As the article states, he's been calling for a 9 game slate since 2012. The rumored scheduling wasn't balanced at that's the sticking point.

Nick didn't seem thrilled with his projected 3 permanent opponents, Auburn, LSU and Tenn, not official, if a 9 game schedule. He was still going to beat Auburn and Tenn lots more often than not, imo, but how many more years does Nick plan on coaching. I know Sankey prefers nine.

I like those 3 games tbh. But compared to the rumored schedule of the rest of the conference, it wasn't balanced.

Most had one solid opponent (SEC blueblood) and two cupcakes. Some had two solid and one cupcake.

Apparently the rumored schedule was pretty accurate...at least at the time of the rumor. But we should find a way to make 9 games work imo.

Sounds like we got Bama's top 3 rivals but 2 of them are tough games right now and if aubarn gets rolling then those plus 6 rotating could be ruff.

Did they ever figure out how the divisions will be aligned? Where will OU and Texas end up?

I'd be fine with not keeping Auburn as permanent opponent. I know I'm in minority in this state but they need the rivalry, we don't. Have always felt that way.
Saban is a shrewd whiner but if he doesn't campaign for his team no one else will. You can bet nobody feels sorry for him or Kirby. Not to worry though they'll both probably come out smelling like a bouquet of roses. Saban is not the top dog in the SEC now and you know it'd grinding on him.

I'd like UF to keep UGA, Tenn, and Auburn as annual rivalry games and round robin the rest of the schedule on a rotating basis. But that historically speaking might be a liability, UGA in particular seems to escape a difficult schedule at least 3 out of every 5 years with few formerly difficult west division teams. There are too many damned teams to my liking. Playing Missouri annually is about as exciting as kissing a butt ugly assed cousin.

Does anyone in the SEC really enjoy playing either Missouri or South Carolina? LOL I've never felt that either team was a good fit for the SEC.
South Carolina really smells ACC to me. No animosity at all towards them, it's more like ignoring RGG, but not as obnoxious. 😂

I thought then and still do now that Missouri was/is a terrible fit. They don't fit geographcally or culturally with the rest of the league. The only reason they were brought in was market, being halfway between St. Louis and K.C. But expansion has become ridiculous with regionality gone. See Big 10 stretch 3000 miles from Rutgers to UCLA/USC.

To me, moving into the old SWC territory and adding Arkansas, A&M, Texas and OU makes a lot of sense. Mizzou and SC just does not.

I'd love to kick them and replace with Clemson and FSU, but I doubt that ever happens.

If you did that, it would simplify things. Just hold the SEC tournament, add two outside national at large selections, and call it the NCAA Tournament Playoffs. 😂

I think it goes to 9 games unless the networks dont want to pony up enough money for that. The main possible scheduling you see doesnt have Bama getting LSU anyway. I think Saban just wants to make sure it doesnt happen. They will get someone like Miss State instead probably but most scenarios have us getting Oklahoma as a permanent to get the 3 permanent games the SEC wants.

Auburn can kiss my whole ass. I'd rather have the Corn Dogs.

I used to love that rivalry growing up. I think it lasted until the 90's when the SEC split divisions and held a conference championship. It's a love to hate kind of relationship, like a dirty ho ex girl friend. 😂 UF's athletic directors were tards though, they scheduled the Auburn game immediately before the Cocktail Party on an annual basis. The game was always a full blown war, and was horrible to play them back to back with UGA. It's tough to play two games back to back with your most hated rivals emotionally and physically. When the conference split, UT took their place as an annual opponent but Spurrier had the brains to not schedule them back to back.

I remember them ruining our season just before they gave up on theirs every year. Not with losses but with TIES.

I can't remember what year it was but it was at Florida Field. I think it was during Dickey Days. The Gators would run two half assed plays and then it would be 3rd and 12. The QB would hand FB Dubose the ball up the middle on a draw play. First Down! It went that way all day long. 😂 Then there was Kerwin Bell limping around after probation had decimated the team. came back from down 17-0 in the 4th QTR to win 18-17. (1986) There were two gut wrenching losses in the mid 90's when we had the much better team. Lots of big games between the two. One more memory I'll never forget, the center hiked the ball over Grossman's head while in the shotgun. Grossman ran back, scooped up the ball and threw a TD strike. We destroyed them that day, 😍

Okay one more! Several of flew to Auburn out of Gainesville on a junket trip. Did we get drunk!! 😂 Bo Jackson was All American and the defense hammered the crap out of him, and finally he had to leave the game. We won that one 14-10 but honestly I don't remember a lot else about that entire game.😂😂😂 We were ranked #1 after that game for a week.
