I've been following Kurt Schlichter for a few years. Read his Kelly Turnbull series and enjoyed it thoroughly (can't wait the seventh book...if it comes).

As a retired Command Senior Enlisted Leader I was blessed to work for six O6 skippers (four Navy, two Army, four of which promoted to General or Flag Officer grades). All but one put mission before social concerns. Their superiors, however, perhaps not so much.

If I'm a Navy Chief leading a department or division under fire the last thing I want them concerned about is pronouns. Train to fight the ship and fight the enemy. Be the absolute best in the world at doing dangerous stuff under dangerous conditions.

Makes me sad to see the current state. Thankful for my 30 years and the great leaders and shipmates. But man oh man, those pencil whippers frustrate the heck out of me.

Anyhoo, give this a read. Staff briefing to follow.

The Next Republican President Must Fix the Military First

Thanks for sharing. I also heard these "new" soldiers are baffled that they must wade through water or carry a heavy object with fellow "thems."

Was the military okay under the Trump administration? (Don't need to answer,)

"This fight will cost him [the next president] some political capital because the Pentagon will squeal, and it has lots of friends in Congress and industry. But fixing the broken culture does not need Congress or industry buy-in. The president is the commander-in-chief. He just needs to command."
"[T]he Obama/Biden generals/admirals have created an organization so hateful to normal Americans that it cannot meet its recruitment goals. No traditional American joins the military to become a vaccine guinea pig who spends more time training about pronouns than on how to keep his ship from crashing into another vessel and be sent off to defend every country's borders but his own."

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the next GREAT president changes this mess and these pansy "theys" are actually pressed to perform as a soldier or kicked out.

No "first hand" knowledge (I retired under Obama). I think part of the problem (as said in Schlichter's article) is that "wokeness" leadership is pervasive throughout DoD, so it's just about impossible to turn around. Remember, Obama had 8 years to screw things up and Trump only had four to un-screw it. By the time Trump took the helm there were so damn many programs hidden within the military to insure the woke agenda that it was just about impossible to fix. Commands stand-downs happened on a regular basis to enforce training on what are now recognized as DEI initiatives. When my time for retirement arrived I felt relief rather than pride.

Sounds like you've got an inside grasp of how flawed it truly is. I met a retired officer the other day who is pissed about today's military. It's a sad state we are in and surprisingly, we haven't been invaded yet.

This would indeed bring a smile to my face, as the next president says:
"Today, I fired all of the joint chiefs for failing to perform adequately. Their replacements have already been identified and will assume their positions as acting chairmen pending confirmation by the Senate. I told you I would fix our military, and bringing in new blood is the first step to doing that."

How does the military address an officer these days? Sir is OUT. Dems, deyes?
I think the safe defaults for many will be to simply use ranks or service/command terms like "Soldiers" or "Shipmates" and avoid pronouns altogether.

The Uniformed Code of Military Justice aspect for DoD really just says that intentional misgendering or misuse of pronouns MAY be a violation of the UCMJ. That MAY is a big deal and implies several things such as does the Commander have the ability to apply or choose not to apply punitive actions for same and if the choose the latter do they risk getting fired because their O-8 boss IS woke and wants it enforced? Service members will likely use the Inspector General hotlines to finger out leaders who don't play to their agendas.

This stuff has been happening for years with other programs. It'll get worse before it gets better.

Good morning gentlemen. That article is spot-on there @hmcmg8r . Yes, Obama and Biden have literally screwed up our military with woke agendas and frivilous crap. Just the other week ago on Jesse Kelly's talk show, I saw this fighter jet incident take place on a landing strip of a battleship. The on-deck workers failed to cast the net/cable to stop the plane's momentum thus causing a terrible accident upon landing. That right there told me everything I needed to know about how bad this wokeism cancer has become in the armed services.

I think the difference between Obama and Biden is that Obama actively changed the leadership aspects and directed wokeness but Biden simply does nothing, enabling the woke leaders (both military and within his Cabinet) to screw things up on their own. I mean, at least Obama was leading (even if it was in the wrong direction). Biden is a no-show when it comes to the military.

Comrade is the next progression.

Always thought it was ironic that we use that term in veterans service organizations like the VFW and DAV. I think both organizations started using the term well before communism became the monster it is today (VFW was chartered in 1899 and DAV in 1920).

Interestingly the first definition listed for the term in the American Heritage Dictionary is "A person who shares one's interests or activities; a friend or companion." The communist application is #2.
