The head of the UN World Food Program is now telling us that we could soon see “hell on Earth” because the lack of food will be so severe. But most people in the western world are treating this crisis as if it is no big deal. Many seem to assume that our leaders have everything under control and that things will work out just fine somehow. Unfortunately, the truth is that everything is not going to be okay. This has got me a wee bit concerned!

It's going to be really bad some places overseas with the food situation. The west played stupid games with the Russian sanctions and now many people in the world will pay with their lives and the average Joe in the west will have even higher food prices. As far as the US we are about to have a pretty bad recession while investors/retirement funds get killed in the markets.

And here's an update on the destruction of our food processing plants.....

Diesel rate increases will stall truckers that bring goods to stores.
Manufacturing plants burning.
Farmers struggling to meet cost demands.
Trickle down escalation.
Hmm...

I am shocked, shocked I tell you. Weren’t some of us trying to tell our dumb ones that if you shutdown there will be starvations? Good grief people are dumb.

In the US I expect there will be sporadic shortages of specific goods and less selection. I don't expect us to be totally out of food, although panic buying might cause some disruptions once the masses flip their panic switch.
The initial Covid scare took everything off the shelves. I can see that happening with an added long delay of restocking. July will be the beginning, IMO.

GEE, It seems almost like this was planned. Hmmm.

Good here too, but it might just be fish. I’m a crappy gardener.

Yes. We should all be concerned because our leaders are incompetent in every facet of their duties.

What a coincidence. Not!

I am a very good fisherman.....I will be fine.

Same...reminds me of Bubba in Forrest Gump. Fish sandwiches, Fish sticks, Fish tar tar, Fish salad....

Scurvy is a disease resulting from a lack of vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Early symptoms of deficiency include weakness, feeling tired and sore arms and legs. Without treatment, decreased red blood cells, gum disease, changes to hair, and bleeding from the skin may occur. As scurvy worsens there can be poor wound healing, personality changes, and finally death from infection or bleeding.

Hence the term "limey" a name that British are called from time to time. They ate limes on ship crossings to keep from getting scurvy.

For the chitty-gardener fishermen here, these are relatively easy to grow and don't require much care once they get going. The Red ones are best imo.

Rose hip is the part of the rose flower just below the petals that contains the rose plant seeds. It has been used for osteoarthritis and contains vitamin C.
(the petals are also edible and make a regular salad pretty)
Surprising your better half with them can also be very helpful to your relationship...
😉

While rose hip is often considered a good source of vitamin C, the processing and drying of the plant actually destroys most of it. (like with most plants, it's best when fresh) Besides vitamin C, other natural chemicals found in rose hip may be helpful for a variety of health conditions.

People use rose hip for osteoarthritis and pain after surgery. It is also used for many other conditions, but there is (as of yet) no good scientific evidence to support these other uses.
