Heartfelt Prayers and Positive Wishes to the Fine Folks of Texas

Really hope that Harvey fizzles out, but it looks like a scary situation.

Although insignificant, also really hoping the impacts of the storm are not bad and do not affect the game next week.

It shouldn't affect the game but there will be some serious flooding in Texas it appears with how slow that thing will be going. Hopefully people in the really low areas get out if they aren't prepared to be stuck for a few days.

My cousin lives on Laguna Madre in Corpus. He pulled his boat yesterday and got it about 25 miles inland. They are now just going to ride it out. Weather folk are saying we could get 10" of rain here in Austin. WTF?

Hopefully the impact is less than what is being forecast. With a few awful exceptions, it usually is. If there is significant damage, at least Texans can count on an organized and effective response from the federal government.

Texas and Louisiana have already been working with Trump to prepare.

The bad thing is it is usually the flooding that sometimes is about as bad as they say unlike the wind. I remember all those people laughing about Katrina not being that bad until the water started flowing in. A different situation here however.

I was in New Jersey for Sandy, and the flooding was crazy. I was out in the 'burbs, so I wasn't affected, but I spent a day prior to the storm helping friends in Jersey City put up sandbags in front of ground floor or basement apartments. They said when the flooding started the bags were completely worthless. The water didn't even come in through the entryways, it just started rising right out of their floor tiles. By the end of it, the first story of about half of Jersey City, Hoboken and lower Manhattan were completely swamped.

Dont u worry. Im safe and sound

Seriously beginning to wonder if we are gonna play this game. Hard to imagine Texas wanting more people to travel through with all the destruction, damage, and flooding to the south. The damn thing is still forecast to be in the area as a depression on Friday.

Knowing the gators history of chickening out in these games (see LSU). I doubt it does. Then we will hear excuse excuse excuse about y their SoS was so bad. Sad!

Sad, I think this storm will stay clear of DFW. Jerry Jones won't let this game and his stadium exposure slip away. Jmho.

I don't disagree. It's college football though and we are talking about a lot of $$$$$$ if they squash this game.

Why not have a 'stand-by 2nd location' set up for the game, just in case.

How about Hotlanta?

Closer for both the Gators and for the meatchickens, and way better than cancelling the game altogether.... o_O
