Have we ever discussed Shane Matthews going to PRISON?!?!?!?

Sounds like Shane got a good deal for cooperating if he only got 90 days incarceration. With his own take over 400K on that scam.

400k for 3 months...I'll do it. lol...Matthews has been around for a long time...he'll land on his feet when he gets out.
It sounds like Shane may have been misled by his teammate. He(Grow) left his 3 year old in his car in the parking lot of a strip club? Oh my.

They say the feds have a 400k or so judgment against him now. Hopefully he didn't blow a lot of it.

Shane supposedly paid back the money. he claims he was not aware of what he was getting involved in, that Monty Grow duped him.

They are divorced. She married a former semi QB, Casey Weldon.
Ok...so first of all...you’re likely incorrect. sadgator found an article from 1992 about Shane citing her name as Stephanie Weldon at the time. She is probably Weldon’s sister...which is equally weird and bizarre...

Absolutely true story...one of the most exciting moments of sadgator’s collegiate career was when he shared an elevator ride with Stephanie in New Orleans (Fairmont Hotel) right before the 1991-92 season Sugar Bowl. sadgator was quite a player in those days and gave her a wink and a point...despite the # 9 gold charm she was wearing, sadgator knows that he saw her swoon for a second. After ND blew us out, sadgator knows that she sat around that hotel room all night dreaming of sadgator...

a few more floors on that elevator ride, and Stephanie might have had the pleasure of being mrs. sadgator to this very day...

Sad for Shane. My father-in-law played for the Gators right before WW II, and Shane was his favorite QB.

I was living out of state in 1991 but was visiting my in-laws in Live Oak the weekend of the game...so we all found tickets and made the trip down. Beautiful day, great college atmosphere, Ben Hill was rocking, but the good guys came up a bit short.

That game is so underrated because of some of the stakes in other games that followed it; however, sadgator will go to the grave knowing that the emotion, energy, and atmosphere in BHG on that day was something that will never be matched in the history of the series. It was, far and away, the best sporting event sadgator has ever witnessed in person.

Chumps who steal $400k from medicare go to prison. He should've gone big, then he'd be in line to be Governor Matthews some day.
