The players were put in position to make plays...they didn’t make any of em. That’s talent...and you can thank Mac and Shannon for that. Especially Shannon with all his diamond in the rough linebackers...they suck. Slow and can’t tackle. This defense isn’t very talented.
Actually I had hope that would be the case tonight. UF has the second most missed tackles in the SEC last weekend..... against Charleston

And probably 150 or more were plays where we hit guys in the backfield and they’d bounce off and pick up huge gains. Not a single attempt at a wrap up tackle was made all night. Idiots kept going for the big hit all night. If I see Rayshad Jackson on the field for another snap I may seriously hurt somebody. There’s a reason he was a 2-Star he’s terrible.
Poor tackling is going to make for a soft defense. Franks is still trash and we have no goof option behind him I thought we had a chance this year, but that was a very mediocre Kentucky team that beat the brakes off Florida last night. It's goings to be a long season. This is a four year rebuild. Mullen is the right guy, but buckle up, because the team is really bad. 6-6 is likely
Louisville fan here...get used to that from Grantham. We managed to hire a D.C. Worse than him after he left, but what you saw last night is par for the course with TG.
The struggles Bortles is having in Jax are the same as those Franks has with us. Decision making and accuracy. Both can run a bit, which hides some of the flaws. Our problem is that Bortles was a great college QB who is struggling at the NFL level, and Franks was a great HS QB who is struggling at the collegiate level.
@IrishPokerDog Where are you able to find missed tackles stats for NCAA? I would love to have this info for UK (stock market game).
Seriously, after our game ended, sadgator was watching FSU and was thinking about how well the Samford players were wrapping up the FSU players...it was like night and day from what we had done....sadgator would trade our entire defense for Samford's...for real.

Well, since the D roster is filled with 4-5 stars recruits, then it's the recruiting services that are obviously to blame...

I have close family that are Gators. As a UGA fan, I do not "hate" the Gators. That said, I felt bad for your team when I heard that you had hired Todd Grantham. He was at UGA and was terrible. He was quietly told to find another job and went to Louisville. Do yourselves a favor and fire him immediately.
