Gators heading to Mizzou at #11

Proud of the team....gonna be real hard to avoid the let down....quite sure McE is already working on that.

Mizzou has made a habit of winning ugly the last couple of years. Would be nice if we could keep them from scoring in first minute unlike last two times we played them.

This team is hungry and have heard about how bad they are for years...I think that they have a chip on their shoulder...I think that they keep grinding and show up. Go Gators!

I seriously don't think our team will get any respect until we are 7-0 and beat LSU in Death Valley. Right before the first Playoff rankings come out

We need to take care of our next three games, starting with this one. We really cannot afford to have a let down game now.

I really hope Mac has them ready and they don't let the success get to them. We need to be 2-1 on these next three games. We're going up to Mizzou who somehow looks terrible buy manages to always have an amazing october

I don't want to get too optimistic too quickly, but it looks like this team has progressed on both offense and defense over the past five weeks. This gradual improvement is something long promised but rarely delivered in recent years, and it's a credit to the coaching staff and McElwain.

It may not be pretty, but I think we take care of business this week.

Biggest game of the year IMO. With USC sucking and UT already having two losses plus us owning the tie breaker, a win here all but assures that our game vs. UGA decides the winner of the East. And we'll have a full two weeks to prepare for that one, the schedule really could not set up any better. We have to win this game.

If we win this weekend all we have to do is basically win 2 of the 3 with UGA, SC and Vandy

Who else is UGA going to lose to? Personally, I don't think they are as good as they looked vs. South Carolina, nor are they as bad as they looked against Alabama. I'm glad to not be playing them this week, because they will be pissed.

Mizzou was good and pretty clearly the best team in the east in 2013. We were not as good and won ugly in 2014. Our D lost a lot from last year, but is doing surprisingly well filling the empty spots. On offense, Maty was horrible, receivers were dropping passes, the line wasn't protecting and we looked like we had Driskell as our OC. I hate to see a kid with as much success as Maty had in the past lose his job, but it is best for this year's team. We may have won big in the Swamp last year, but that was the defense.

My not so bold predictions:
  • UF defense is going to cause real problems for the Tigers. Lock is more accurate than Maty and will complete a much higher percentage, but he's going to make mistakes and Florida can take advantage of that where USC didn't.
  • I'm interested in the matchup when the Gators have the ball. I'm not ready to believe that you were as good as you looked against Ole Miss. Tiger DL lost a ton, but they will still be disruptive. Florida has the weapons to answer, but I'm not sure how consistent your execution will be.
  • MU kick coverage is not good this year. UF returns one for 6 repaying the Marcus Murphy return from last year..
  • I don't know where the O/U is set, but take the under.
With a win, Mizzou is still hanging around the discussion as a dark horse. It would mean that we have improved week over week again. With a very young team, I think it's possible, but if I had to put money down it would be on the Gators in a close, possibly ugly defensive battle.

I know this will sound crazy to most, but Tennessee is going to beat UGA this weekend.

I would agree had UGa lost in a deflating nail-biter. But that game was over by halftime. Plus UT seems to still be reeling from blowing 4th quarter lead against the Gators. Dawgs keep Vols tumbling.

The way they lost is not gonna change these boys play, they are really just as bad as they looked out there because their QB's are absolutely pathetic. I tried to warn so many UGA fans last week to prep their anuses for what bama was about to do to their conservative pro style offense with no mobile QB and a s*** OC.

UT is gonna be able to do plenty on offense and they will finally find a way to win one of these games. This is the one they finally close out, I really think so.

I disagree. You've gotten a ton of respect. Your last poll move up was what...14 spots? What did you expect...seriously?

No. We HAVE to beat UGA. We beat UGA and we can lose the other two and still win the East. (assuming we beat Missouri, which is not certain)

We HAVE to beat UGA.

I just really have a feeling it will, the FPI does as well and the line is only at 3. This has to be the one they win or it's cooked time for Butch

This game worries me most, because it seems Mizzou always has our number, and matches up well against us.

Some will say Mizzou can't win because their QB is starting only his 2nd game. I remember a F$U game when a back up qb started (Outzen) when the 1st string QB went down, and he beat us.

I think if we can beat Mizzou, we will beat UGA, and play LSU very close, and may even win that game.

Go Gators!!

This game should worry people because its the pure example of a let down after huge upset win, on the road and a sandwich game before the biggest game of the season on the road next week. If we win by one ill be satisfied.

I think that these kids keep their head and play a good game. You're right...they have had our number so far though. We'll see how we play.

You're right though...one part of me feels that way that the other part of me wants to believe that are going to play well...even good teams fall into trap games though and this certainly one. The fact that we are just talking about this right now is awesome...before this season started I was HOPING for an 8+ win season...now we are talking about trap games after big wins and winning the East. It's pretty been a pretty great turn around so far. I hope these kids stay hungry and keep their heads. They could do some huge things this year.

Consistency - if we don't have it, Gator Nation is going to have some let downs.
We are riding high right now, but a loss this weekend could certainly change all that. Let's just try and not act like Kentucky fans during basketball season.

Mizzou is going to have trouble with our defense, esp. with a true frosh QB. They may not be able to even score an offensive TD on us.

Only mutual opponent is UK.

NR 4-1, 1-1 SEC Mizzou 13 - 21 @ UK (+8)
#11 5-0, 3-0 SEC Florida 14 - 9 @ UK (-5)
2 TD's minus 3 pts for Home Field advantage and it should be UF by 10+.
To bad that the games aren't decided on paper....

From last year's game...

"The Tigers had only gained 119 yards on offense that game. Teams in the FBS in the past 10 years who had recorded 120 yards or fewer on offense had gone 2-147. Both of those victories came against Muschamp-coached teams. "

With every victory by Coach Mac, he makes Muschamp look worse and worse (since basically same players).

They have a senior laden offensive line.

We will not get to their QB as easily as we did against UT and UM.
