This game appears to be a likely blowout as USF has lost its last couple of games to Power 5 opponents by an average score of almost 50-0.

The progress I am hoping to see even if I do want Richardson to be given a shot is for Jones to show he is capable of stretching the field by completing some good passes downfield and not just have passing that is mostly caught behind the line or within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. He needs to show he can throw people open and have some touch on the longer pass attempts. No bad interceptions also.

With Richardson I would like to see him get much of the 2nd half to give him some good experience prior to the Bama game.

With the defense I am hoping when the tape is broken down afterwards there isn't a bunch of risky play designs like was seen in the FAU game.

From the South Florida site...lol...

"Ideally, this would be stop the run, but the Gators put up 400 rushing yards against FAU and the Bulls really struggled to stop the run in week one. So, just limiting the Gators to half of their last game totals would be big for the Bull, because Florida hasn’t thrown the ball much."

"Gators’ quarterback, Emory Jones threw two picks against FAU, but just one touchdown. Anthony Richardson didn’t throw a pick, but he attempted just eight passes in the game. The Bulls can find themselves with the advantage in the turnover margin if they are looking for those sloppy passes that are begging to be taken away. A few extra possessions could keep USF in the game late, which is where they will need to be for a win.".....

"If USF can stay within two touchdowns by halftime, they will have a chance to win the game in the second half, even if the offense is still struggling, by virtue of non-typical scores, like pick sixes, kick returns, and fumble returns for touchdowns. Florida is the better team on paper, but their opener exposed some flaws. If the game is close, the Bulls will be in a position to capitalize on those flaws to possibly win the game."

The USF Cows begged for this game for years and it was anmounced a while ago. The day is finally here. If their program is in shambles and they can’t put a good product on the field that’s on them. Don’t think we will be signing any more deals with G5 teams after the SEC goes to 16 teams in 2025.

I doubt we do anymore 2 for 1 deals either. Cant remember if that was with UCF or USF or both.

Grantham defense looking good against an overmatched offense.

I didn't even yell at the tv though or threaten to murder anybody when we gained 1 yard on the first drive. Completely expected outcome.

what was that wobbly lame duck Emory threw on the first pass? My god.

He's not a pocket passer for sure. Mullen will adjust calls to that.

hes rolled to right two times for passes and the first one was way overthrown and the second one was high again but Wells was able to jump and grab it.

I wonder if he's just one of those guys that comes in to a game with too much juice and you have to settle him down.

Agreed. USF and UCF wanted these games so bad and if they aren't up to snuff, so be it. Usf isn't very good and that program spiraled after Jim Leavitt left. I hope Florida pounds them by 60

UF isn’t playing at home. Since your new around here and you didn’t know that I’m going to assume you aren’t a UF fan either.

I addressed usf's point total and said at home. I am correct. If I addressed ufs point total and said at home than you would be right in calling it out.

USF may not score much this game being overmatched but I don't like what I am seeing with this defense on some plays. Curious what the tape will look like on some of these plays.
