I don't get it why would this be important? It doesn't matter if he supported the LGBTQ+ community. The important thing is that he was an amazing writer that managed to create a world that all of us have enjoyed. His books are amazing, and that's what's important.
I love his world. Elves are my favorite race in this world. A lot of people know only about Legolas, Arwen, and Elrond, but there are characters like Celebrimbor that are interesting. I learned about Celebrimbor after reading the Silmarillion. Silmarillion is hard to read though, and it's better to learn about him on the Tolkien forum.
