This thread has a good background and theory on why that happened - https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1122628790608437249.html

I think Sessions was fired for the same reason Whitaker, Mattis, Kelly and Rogers resigned. They will now be available to testify as WITNESSES to the crimes they encountered while working for the Trump administration.

I think Trump and Sessions knew all along what they were doing and this was all a plan they both agreed to.

And BTW, Trump's team does indeed put out a LOT of misinformation. Intentionally. They signal a move to encourage their enemies to make a move and put themselves in a bad position.

Trump is a huge devotee of The Art of War. His book is named after it. His administration has always been heavily focused on brilliant military strategists for key roles.

Trump and his team are always 5 steps ahead. That should be obvious to everyone by now, but you'll really see the fruits of that planning in the coming months.

This plan has been in the works since early in the obama administration. Enjoy the show.

It seems Rogers has now met with both AG Barr and US Attorney Durham.

When you've done your homework, you know what's coming.
