I hope he is crazy enough to run 3rd party for the WH though as there is no way that could hurt Trump and it might take a few Dem and left leaning Independent votes.

They will take the votes they would have given to Hiden to beat Trump, and give them to Manchin instead. Even the dems won't buy Hiden having more votes than last time, so they give Hiden 76M or so, keep Trump about where he was, give Manchin about 10M and call it a day.
