No. 1 Florida (54-5) will face Central Florida (37-20) today at noon in the winner's bracket game.

Third-seeded UCF remained in the winner's bracket with a 1-0 win over No. 2 seed Florida Atlantic (50-8) after a one-hour rain delay. The only run was scored on a homer by Jasmine Acevedo in the fifth inning.

Florida will be the visiting team for the game.

Ump is not giving either pitcher the corners and it's making for a very slow game. UCF can't hit, but we are once again leaving too many baserunners stranded. As we get deeper into this tournament, we've got to get more clutch hits or we're going to get knocked out.

Florida won what was a tough game until the top of the 7th. Florida was leading 2-0 going into that inning but managed to score 3 runs and went on the win 5-0.

The Mighty Gators will face the winner of the FAU/Alabama State-UCF winner tomorrow.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — After dispatching of UCF 5-0 in Saturday's second-round action of the NCAA Tournament, Florida senior catcher Aubree Munro was blindsided with a trivia question as she left the post-game interview tent.

When's the last time the Gators surrendered a run in a regional?

Munro stopped to think about it. Clearly, she was stumped, yet as one of just five seniors on the UF squad Munro was one of the few qualified for the question.

"I don't know."

When told the answer was May 18, 2013 against USF, Munro looked confused.

You won the game 11-1.

Then she looked perturbed.

"One stinkin' run," Munro said.

The same question was put to Gators coach Tim Walton, who also was stumped. When reminded of the answer, he nodded, but then was reminded of something else.

For what it's worth, that USF run was unearned.

Walton shook his head.

"Damn error."

Damn, these Gators, from the top down, are wired alike.

This may be a Florida softball season unlike past seasons, what with the team's collective struggles with the bat. But as long as the No. 1-ranked Gators (55-5) can spin masterpieces like the one-hit, 13-strikeout gem junior lefty Delanie Gourley fired at the Knights, they'll continue to enjoy runaway NCAA success as they have for two-plus postseasons now. UF basically has been Godzilla in regional play since 2013, what with 11 straight wins and nine by shutout, thanks to 63 2/3 consecutive innings without surrendering a run. Want to go back further? How 'bout and 74 1/3 straight without an earned run, dating to the 2012 season, a streak that dates to UF's last regional defeat.

Basically, seeing opponents cross the plate against Florida in regional play has become like seeing Bigfoot.

"We don't like it when teams score," Munro said.

The Gators have gone 64 2/3 innings (more than three years) in NCAA regional play without surrendering a run -- and 74 1/3 since the last regional opponent got an earned run.

That's damned impressive.

No need to start a new thread. UCF eliminated FAU today. So we play UCF tomorrow at noon. I like our chances. They have to beat us twice. ESPN3

Run ruled them.

Final tally in three region game.

11-0
5-0
8-0

24-0

Getting the winner of UGA/OSU

Gators haven't given up a run in Regionals since the 2013 season. Incredible! We haven't played Georgia this year, but they're always tough. Have a couple of really great hitters, the top HR hitter in the SEC, super fast sisters at the top of their order and an excellent pitcher named Wilkinson. We're better, but have to play well to win.

Agreed. UGA had an RPI of #19 and is obviously the #16 seed.

If we make it past them and FSU also advances, it looks like we meet FSU first in the WCWS
