The personal attacks, etc. need to stop. It’s actually getting worse. It’s not just 1 or 2 posters either. I either let it all go or I start banning lots of posters. Neither I one of those options are good or preferable. Thanks for your cooperation.

I’ve pretty much stopped coming here and posting because it’s always a “bickerfest”. Nobody talks football anymore.
Ive only been reading this board for a couple years but I think the level of football talk went way down when the dawg fans came over. That's when a lot of the silliness started.
Paco no doubt has his own idea on how this board should be run, but I've always felt that a team board like this should have a bit of a 'home field advantage' for the posters that love that team. In general, the rivals that come here are given a shorter leash, the Florida fans given more leeway. The trolls and sh*t posters always knock on me for thinking that, but I think that approach changes the behavior of the incoming rivals. They will either tone the insults way down, or not even bother. The ones that can behave can stay and give an outside perspective on Florida and we can also discuss their teams, which is always welcome if they can behave.
I think we see from the dawg invasion that there's 1 or 2 that have been relatively well-behaved and who can discuss SEC football without it becoming mindless back and forth. Over time, you create a board that's 75-90% Florida posters with a handful of rivals who can behave themselves. I think it works well.
For one I would just like the attacking of posters to stop first and the foul language being exchanged. I’m fine with disagreements but tone it down. I don’t mind rival fans posting either as long as they abide by the rules as well. And yes football talk is obviously what this board is for.
I can’t ban a poster and not ban another if that said poster is just as guilty when it comes to the harassment, etc.
Even though we have had these problems before I was even a mod I’m trying to give everybody a clean slate and the benefit of the doubt.

Agreed, no excuse for personally attacking another poster. Too many SEC fans take a dig on their TEAM as a personal attack on THEM, and respond in kind.
By not having a Mod for a while things have gotten ridiculous. I've been apart of some of it to a degree but most of it has been rival posters running wild. Now that we have someone who will enforce a bit of decency, we can get back to sports or whatever is being discussed.
Well the dawgs haven't won anything since the Carter administration so they can't talk football....that basically leaves them with nothing to contribute.

Have I missed anything in the last 15 years? Yes. I miss Swami's late night ban hammerings and tirades.

I cant' remember which week/loss but that 1 week that Swami came in drunk (all week) just swinging left and right - was awesome.
Maybe I haven't clicked on enough threads @PacoGator19 , but isn't it pretty much the entire board vs Laker? Who else isn't getting along?
The weekend FSU broke the eternal loss streak with Ponder sans Tebow was hilarious on Swami's part...made going postal seem sane. LOL

I would encourage Paco to lock or even delete discussion threads that are getting out of hand.

When I’m on another board I generally show a certain amount of deference to the home team - although I did get banned from the South Carolina board when I trolled a particular poster who had been trolling the UK during the week of our game in 2017.

One of the most level-headed posters this board has ever known.
I get that level-headedness is supposed to be a desirable trait, but you guys are really missing the point.
this board was great when we had a triumvirate. Two level headed guys and a loose cannon.

I've been on boards with a group of 'level-headed' mods and it never works. The trolls know how to work the system, they start complaining when the 'level headed' mods go after them, then the 'level headed' mods start backing off to appease them. Then the regulars start complaining that the trolls are getting better treatment and the trolls just sit back and laugh at the chaos they have caused.
You need the loose cannon who doesn't care and will tell the trolls "piss on you wanting fair. You want fair? Go back to your own board."
The trio of JD, Homie, and Pass were the best. ...and don't think I didn't get banned either. I had my fair share of 1 to 3-day bans. The best were from Pass, though, since he'd follow up with an email with something like this, "Hey, bud, sorry for the ban, but you have to know you asked for that one." LOL
Hell, half the crap that used to go on around here was for show...I probably emailed back and forth behind the scenes with 1/3 of the posters on this board.

Banning people with no clear reasoning is confusing. Laker is attacking Sad, it isn't cute, it isn't funny. He should be banned period. He isn't provoked, he is just somebody who spouts off. He is a spammer who litters this board with nonsense. The ignore function doesn't keep his bumped threads from showing up.

I think I have been permanently banned over there. I'm ok with it, I really just got upset with the lack of any understanding about Daniels trying to take out Trask. When I went over and saw some Kentucky posters calling our players out for their antics, I just got upset. Silly thing to do I know. I noticed alot of posters over there have alot of negative feelings about our program. I can only imagine they have accrued that because of the streak,and maybe due to some douche Gator fans from the past.
Being banned isn't the worst thing in the world. Kentucky fans like you are really the type I like talking to anyhow. Most I have met in real life are really great people. I would get along with any of them in real life. Message boards tend to bring out the cowards who usually are unfit for human conversation. Their Cheetos stained shirts, and cluttered basements are their reality lol. I wish them well.
If you look back at my history, I WAS THE ONE who went to Corey Bender asking for a Mod. as Rivals like GwinnettDawg and IraqDawg were just ragging on Coach Dan Mullen and the team and nobody was a mod to stop them. I went to Twitter to ask him or Jacquie Francit. for a Mod and they did nothing. It wasn’t until porn was being posted that anything got done. Thank me for that. It’s one thing to TALK about it and another to post it. Next, these boards tend to have 8-12 regulars who think it’s THEIR space and if you question things they go ape sheat crazy. One guy whose been here for over a DECADE comes to mind. I went against the norm to have fun. It’s A MESSAGE BOARD people. I just had a college friend pass away much to young and to get worked up because I post this or that is, pardon the pun SAD.
I rarely come here these days as I go to another board and I like Bovado now. Might as well during Bowl season.
