They benefit from their scholarships. Unless they had their scholarships taken away, they have no grounds for damages. I expect this to be dismissed. Since the lawyers obviously know this, I expect this was for publicity.

A delayed season isn't missed playing time. It is delayed.

There is no part of the contract that says the NCAA or the respective University is there to expose your talents to the NFL. It's financial aid to receive an education. They are still paying for their classes, room/board/, meals, access to training equipment, tutors, etc.

Not getting to play this season could potentially cost a player a lot of money. The NFL doesn't have a minor league like other sports. Some of those guys are trying to play their way into a large contract. It's not fair that other major conferences are playing and benefiting, while other conferences are allowed to opt out. These players were ecstatic to get a scholly from Nebraska, which is a real springboard to a good life, either as a player or as a college graduate, but now they are listening to a bunch of people who really should STHU and suddenly think they are owed more. They aren't.

I will say this. College students are allowed to get jobs while studying. If players are forbidden to get jobs, then the scholly should include a small but fair stipend. But it should be equal for all scholly athletes, not just those in the popular sports.

Once again the members that make up the Big10 are representatives of public institutions. Having a meeting together under a unified banner to collectively represent their public institutions (minus Northwestern) means they owe answers to the public when asked. A school board member conducting private business is not even in the same realm here. You are reaching.

Why is game suspension a deterrent for players who don’t follow rules? Because every game a player doesn’t play is less opportunity to show the next level how good they are. By cancelling an entire season they have taken that opportunity away from them. That is both NFL and CFL money. I don’t know how this is so hard to comprehend.

If the Big10 had been more open about why and how they came to their decision maybe they aren’t dealing with this. But they haven’t been. Have they even let the medical experts discuss openly how they advised these presidents, deans, and ADs? I’ve heard Warren reference discussing with medical professionals but seems he could kill a lot of this heat by trotting one out and saying “Dr. XYZ determined it wasn’t safe..”
