Facts
-The past 2 years have been tough with last year being an incredible offense most feel was wasted
-this year we are 6-6
-recruiting has been a mixed bag. With muschamp it was rated high but unbalanced
With Mac it was not to our perceived standard
With Mullen it was not to our perceived standard
-in the last 12yrs there have been multiple wtf moments
*Georgia southern loss
*lsu jv team losses
*ky losses
*4-8 season
*will Grier’s situation when it appeared (to me) we might be able to finally right the ship
-multiple nfl rostered qb (or highly rated) that we had that for whatever reason didn’t meet expectations here (Franks, brissett, driskel, cam, Brantley, emory)
*multiple blowouts under Mac

Personal feelings
-I haven’t felt GREAT about the program since 2008. Yes 2009 was incredible from a record standpoint but hindsight shows me things were starting to crumble with the Dunlap incident prior to the sec championship, followed by the blowout to Bama in the game
-even the “good” years that were mixed in in the following years felt like a kid trying to learn how to drive a stick shift. We were moving but felt hurky jerky
-my soapbox says that society plays a role in our perceptions in the sense of instant gratification (add in the nature of today’s cfb)
-change is typically uncomfortable. However, change is inevitable, growth is optional
-Napier is doing exactly what he said. Much like when I tell my students the consequences for poor decisions-when the student makes a poor decision, I act on said consequences, student gets mad at me. Why? It should come as no surprise
-obviously what’s been attempted the last 3 coaches hasn’t worked. I welcome a different approach even if I may not fully understand it
-for the parents on the board-how many times have u told your kids “trust me, it’s for your own good” or you made decisions based on your experience, formulated a plan to raise them in what u felt to be proper and your child didn’t quite fully understand? Because I’ve done this, I have faith

Questions
-what has happened in the last 12yrs to give u a sense of us being elite?
-when was the last time u felt GREAT about our program?
-do u feel any of our previous coaches had a plan?
-what reason do we have to peacock with arrogance and have an elitist mindset other than “we’re Florida?”
-are u willing to trust his plan after a 7-6 season next year? (See my reference to Sabans first year below)

Food for thought

Bama is the daddy of cfb and what everyone wants. Is this reasonable? What’s being done there has never been done in modern era and quite frankly ever. Not saying we shouldn’t shoot for that but everyone wants to be the next mj. There is only one and those that were “the next Jordan” (Kobe, lebron) still aren’t the GOAT but are all timers. Instead of trying to be the next Saban, I hope coach has learned from him and others but his process consists of being himself. If we (as people) try to be someone else, how will we ever know who we are? Hopefully in 10yrs, people will want to try to be the next Napier (with their own spin)

Saban went 7-6 his first year at Bama with a loss to la-monroe. Go back in time and put yourself in their position. To that point Saban only had 3 ten win seasons on his resume (albeit a title at lsu and power 5 experience) and a mixed review (IMO) in the nfl. I often wonder how many trusted his process after his first season.

Bama was up and down between stallings and Saban-cfb is cyclical

My beverage has me wondering more but I figure I have lost most people by now so I’ll go back to lurking
