Rush to the waiver wire and pick up Driskel if you already haven't! I bet he would have been nasty under Mullen.
4. could Driskel have been successful with a coach with a functioning frontal lobe?
We may be on the verge of answering No. 4.
That question has already been answered at LaTech.
It remains to be seen if he can be a decent NFL QB, but that's a different question imo....![]()
He is better than Bortles?
Not so. The anti-Driskites discount LaTech due to level of competition.
Bad competition and that he had the same averages, but Skip Holtz just doubled up his usage.
Against bad competition.
I don't know why that's so hard to deal with.
Yes Driskel would have done good under Dan Mullen. No doubt about it. Look what he’s done with Franks and Driskel is a better fit for the offense than Franks is.
But if he succeeds in the NFL, and you could make a pretty good argument that he already has just by getting drafted, working his way into being a backup and now a starter by injury, but I’m saying if he performs credibly, I don’t know how you could argue that Muschamp et al didn’t leave quite a bit on the table with him.
Sure.
Granted, he got drafted in the 6 round, just a few picks before Kelvin Taylor. That isn't exactly a marker for "success." If it were, we wouldn't talk about how crazy it is that Tom brady was a 6th round pick.
It's not like he was drafted in the top 3-4 rounds.
I would also say that you would surely hope that after all this time and coaching, that he has progressed and figured something out.
Who cares? No doubt some of you are the type that still check your ex’s Facebook page.
LOL. Driskel was not good here but the coaching he received was awful. Just like the awful coaching the team received under McElwain. Driskel was alway a Very talented individual with measurables that are off the charts.Hmmmm, sounds like one of the chief anti-Driskites is feeling the heat!

No doubt about it he would have been good under Dan Mullen. For some reason people refuse to undervalue what a good coach can do for a player(s). Look what Dan Mullen has done with Franks. Driskel is a perfect fit for a Dan Mullen type offense.
In the meantime Driskel is also getting ready to start his first NFL game. You have to have some talent to play in the NFL.
The four subjects that will not die on this board: 1. Did Urb screw UF; 2. Whatever happened to Bong; 3. Aliens?; 4. could Driskel have been successful with a coach with a functioning frontal lobe?
We may be on the verge of answering No. 4.
The correct answers are:
1. No.
2. Weed cultivation industrial mogul.
3. Yes, but too far away in the universe to ever meet/could never physically visit.
4. Yes.
If thinking he wasn't good here makes me an anti-Driskilite then so be it. I've said it a million times...did he and the entire offense receive poor coaching here? Absolutely. But no one to date has yet to be able to refute why the offense always improved with another QB. Go look it up, literally every single one. Whether it was Murphy, Treon, or whoever. And none of those QB's were good. Which indicates that while the offense suffered from poor coaching, he was also a large part of the problem.
I just don't get the obsession. Brissett left from here and was far more successful, we don't see a million threads about him every season. Players like Mike Gilislee were underused here and have signed large contracts int he NFL, again, no multiple threads about him every season. Meanwhile, y'all conveniently dismiss all the data points that support the point of view that he isn't very good, like being a 6th round pick and being cut twice in his first 3 years in the league. But let Driskel have a good preseason game against some guys playing in the CFL and we get a thread about how awesome he is. Driskel has been gone for years, he chose to transfer and move on with his life. Why on earth can't y'all do the same? Again, the same type of dudes who no doubt still stalk their ex's Facebook wondering what could have been.
Yes Brissett was more successful somewhere else other than UF. Just like Driskel was more successful somewhere else other than UF. They both received poor coaching. The reason why Driskel is discussed more because he stayed here and played here much longer than the other guys. Brisset transferred and left after his first year I believe. He became out of sight out of mind. Why would we discuss Brissett anymore anyways? He didn’t graduate a Gator student athlete. Same goes for Tyler Murphy or Treon Harris. Tyler Murphy was more successful somewhere else as well and that was under Addazio of all coaches. That is how bad the coaching was at UF. Driskel gets discussed more becuase he was the guy that sat here and took it the longest basically. If thinking he wasn't good here makes me an anti-Driskilite then so be it.
