The Rebels do bring some heat on D, and while our o-line did a reasonably good job on Saturday night, blitzing from the Ole Miss front could bring some big problems. Outside of the 4th down play at the end, we proved (to no surprise) that are aren't a good long yardage team. That's not the coaching staff's fault and even the players' fault. We just have some limitations in talent right now, but they're doing the best they can, which is all we can ask for.
The #1 combat to a blitzing defense is the screen. Do we have what it takes to run them? That could also open the door to some big plays on offense if setup/executed successfully. If nothing else, it should neutralize the blitz a bit and help Grier to buy some time throwing the football.
Thoughts?
