I come to this site a lot during the day and see many of the same folks posting. I guess we all have cushy jobs that we can do this sort of thing. Mine may be somewhat cushy, but it keeps up with the bills, so I dabble constantly on the internet.

Could you please elaborate a little more on what it is you do? Of course, no identifying information is needed, but you've mentioned the "patients" you see before, and I'd be keen to know if you have a MD/epidemiology/infectious disease background, given your posts about covid. Thanks in advance!

Nothing like that - chiropractor. Does that disappoint you or disqualify me?

Translation: I am being exposed to a lot of medical FACTS here that I'm not seeing on MSNBC. And I don't like it one damn bit.

Just give him time. He'll adjust. :D

Began work at age 10 (4th grade) as an independent contractor (paper boy) and retired at age 53, almost 2 decades ago. Not rich, but careful planning and living within my means allowed me to get out of the 'rat-race' fairly early, which was my plan from the beginning. I would rather have my time, than anyone else's money. Howard Hughes died as a Billionaire, but at the end he was still unable to buy a single second more time. o_O

What I do now and have done for years, is whatever I feel like doing on any given day... :p

Nice!! I married late. For me I never thought I'd ever get married and so I spent my money as it came in. Lived a fun life doing that but regret it now that I'm married (15 years) and regret not doing what you did. I blame my dad. He never gave me any business sense. lol.

We all have some regrets, it's a part of being human.

My Dad's idea of an allowance was that I was allowed to keep some of the money I made.
The only 'spending money' I ever had was what I worked for and provided for myself.
I was buying my own school clothes by the time I was in HS.
I left home and was on my own by age 17, (boot straps) and I never looked back.
Lots of bumps and bruises along the way, but I just kept on pushing until I got to where I wanted to be. Married now for 46 years to a great partner and I'd be lost without her.

Lost my job due to covid. Entire industry basically shut down.

Don't post much here but am a fan of Swamp Talk where they actually talk about the Gators.

Like me, you have 10 cents more than you need.

Chiropractor. My favorite doctor. If people could just try to understand this profession, they would feel alot better. Where are you at? After I make a long drive to Florida an adjustment will make the long drive back easier.

Actually, while not rich by any means, by my not attempting to keep up with the Jones's and not trying to buy every toy in the store, I'm doing a bit better now than at any other time in my life. ;)

As long as no major emergency comes along, the surplus is a bit better than 10 cents.
And I can continue to help deserving others, just as I've always done, (within my limited means). God is good and life is good, while it lasts....

Gosh I can't imagine that. I'm sorry. My practice is down - losing a grand a month pretty much, but hopefully it'll turn around soon.

Sorry, I'm in Texas. But you are correct chiropractic is awesome. I always say it isn't life or death but quality of life we help.

I actually work about 12 hours a day. Today I went from 6:30am to 8pm. It depends on what I have going on. The bad thing about being good at my job and having a strong work ethic, is that I’m in high demand and it’s hard to find someone to do what I do. I’m in charge of all field operations for an engineering firm that specializes in DOD work and large scale residential development. Not to mention, the side work I do. Trump has been good to my pocket book.

LMT. I have my own practice so I have a flex schedule which is awesome. I’m pretty steady but I allow for gaps so not to burn out. I do mostly sports and corrective work which keeps me busy and never lose interest.
