Do Alligators like the new rules?

I agree with sadgator but I’d wish they would do away with automatic ejections for helmet to helmet or defenseless receiver hit… What good does it do? Nothing and totally screws up the game IMHO…Ejecting a player has nothing to do with player safety!!!

I think the focus on kick returns is misdirection. You’re talking about what, 8-10 plays a game? I don’t think the game will be much safer if you get rid of kickoffs. This is just the NFL and NCAA trying to show that they’re doing something.

Totally agree. The way the targeting rule is interpreted and enforced is one of the most shameful officiating things in the history of modern sport.

It is an absolute travesty that some defensive player can have unintended incidental helmet to helmet contact during an otherwise good and legal tackle and get thrown out of a game for it. It happened rountinely last season, and something has to be done about it. You can easily determine and distinguish intent to harm and head hunt vs. hits that result in incidental contact. There has to be some common sense discretion there.

Options:

1. Remove all pads, and especially the 'high impact' helmets.
~ That would force the players to run-pass-tackle and 'play,' instead of going to 'war' with the 'I'm gonna rip-yo-head-off and spit in your neck-hole' attitudes.

2. Just go ahead and give each player a large shield and pass out the swords, with the only rule being; 'try not to die.'

So, what do we do with all of that left over player equipment?
~ Pass it out to the NBA players who are now in desperate need of it with their own 'modern' (cheat-shot thugs) style of play/war.... o_O

carry-on.... :D

They didn’t even have targeting in this league...we don’t need it in college football...
