Destin Area recs

We will be back in Florida for Winter. Prior to heading for South Florida, we are stopping in Destin for two weeks at the Army campground. Any recs on deep sea fishing charters in that area?

I live here, and have my entire life. What info are you looking for? Fishing charters, I see. how many people? What do you want to target? This is a GREAT time to visit here...the weather is usually our best. Many fish are legal to catch also

4 people. 2 adults 2 teenagers. Wanting to maybe get some bottom fish, snapper, maybe some black fin if their around, amber jack, kings, grouper, mahi….sort of whatever is around. Done a 4hr trip before that was too short. Trying to see if I can get something just the 4 of us for 6-8 hrs? I don’t know much about the area. Just looking for advice. Maybe recs on good boats etc.

I have a friend that I charter(have for 30 years) that is a REALLY good guy, and great captain. First Light Charters in Destin. With you describing what you expect really helps me out. Capt Steve has hundreds of his own spots(he owns a reef building company also) and will definitely put you on fish. this will be a 47 foot boat (there about) with a VERY good ride, AC and really good fishing gear. I think you can catch plenty of big fish on an 8 hr trip. Go to his web page...he is one of our very best. If that does not work out, or what you are looking for, please let me help. Wish I could help you out but I'm 200 miles east of there. I really don't know the area or recommendations. October should be a lot cooler and give you more fishing options.

Half the time. The other half on the Gulf of Mexico in a small fishing village between Cedar Keys and Horseshoe Beach. Which is where I am right this moment. Hot AF, but I did catch 3 small triple tails today. Didn't stay out long. This heat is rough.

This is our best weather of the year. And best time to visit, because there are not NEAR as many tourists here. You can get in restaurant's much easier. Weather is low 80's high...low 60's low
