Rumors in the blogosphere and message boards that we have reached out to DD as the WR coach.

wow if true.

There have been rumors of Dooley, Zach Smith, etc for the last week or so because they were guys that were still coaching. I would take a look at Oregon's WR coach as a possibility, because I believe he has some ties to McElwain,

Wouldn't mind at all. He's a terrible HC obviously but he'd do well as a WR coach. And he can recruit. That guy kept pulling top classes at UT going 5-7 every year.

I continue to have nearly a flawless record when reporting these things;

@AllKindsWeather: Confirmed: Matt Lubick will be the #Gators WR coach. Good work, @Brody_IAKOW

I feel much better about our offensive staff with this guy. Hoping he'll add some of the uptempo to our scheme with his input.

Excellent work as always MJ, keep it up!

Yep. Whatever rumors I post, you can almost always count on it being wrong.

Hard to have a perfect negative beta. But I seem to have managed.

Oregon wide receivers coach Matt Lubick denied reports he will accept
the same position at Florida, amidst multiple reports Tuesday night
indicating he's headed to Gainesville.

When asked about reports he could be headed to Florida, Lubick said, "No, nothing to that."

When asked if he planned to coach at Oregon next year, Lubick replied with a simple, "yes."

DuckTerritory has independently confirmed that Lubick is a candidate for
the job, but cannot confirm an offer has been made or accepted.

FightinGators.com reported earlier Tuesday night that Lubick "is indeed expected to come to Florida to coach the receivers."

The 42 year old was hired by Ducks head coach Mark Helfrich in 2013 away
from Duke. He replaced Scott Frost, who was promoted to offensive
coordinator.

Lubick has also coached at Arizona State, Ole Miss, Colorado State, Oregon State, San Jose State and Cal State Northridge.

Until it is officially announced, I won't know what to believe. From TOS

Florida Gators hire receivers coach

January 13, 2015

Jim McElwain has completed his staff with the hire of Matt Lubick as the new Florida Gators receivers coach, Gator Country has confirmed. The 42-year old coach who spent the past two seasons at Oregon as their receivers coach will take the same job at Florida.

Connections between Matt Lubick and the current Florida coaching staff run through his father, Sonny Lubick. The elder Lubick coached in the collegiate level for more than 30 years and crossed paths with both Jim McElwain and Randy Shannon.

McElwain has talked about "checking boxes" as he goes through the task of filling out his staff and Lubick checks off many of the things that Mac is looking for. Lubick is young, he has experience in the SEC (he coached receivers at Ole Miss 2005-06), he's a great recruiter and he's been a part of prolific offenses at Oregon and Duke.

Lubick will be the seventh receivers coach in the past seven seasons for the Gators.

Getting Nasty;

Well this whole Lubick thing just took an interesting turn.

Andy Hutchins just posted this story (
of crushing Brody_IAKOW and guys like DK_Thompson over the reporting of
the Lubick thing and subsequent backtracking. Anyway, Brody_IAKOW is
now threatening a defamation lawsuit.

Brody @Brody_IAKOW

@AlligatorArmy if you put down my reputation/credibilty again, I'll bury you so deep in a defamation lawsuit, you will not be able to breath

This is what Robbie Andreu wrote 10 days ago.

"While we wait - and wait and wait and wait - for Jim McElwain to
complete his staff by hiring a wide receivers coach, here are two viable
candidates who seem to have been overlooked by all those out there
guessing who the guy might be: South Carolina wide receivers coach and
passing game coordinator Steve Spurrier Jr. and Indianapolis Colts wide
receivers coach Charlie Williams."

Now there is twitter speculation that it is in fact Spurrier Jr.

I await Paco's inside scoop on the hire though.
He is still searching for more Gerald Willis news.

MJ, come on now. It is really difficult to take week old information and recycle it time and time againg while still maintaining credibility.

He has talent.

I like the fact he was a passing game coordinator, since I am not sure Nuss knows what a forward pass is.
Sigh...every time we make progress, you always regress.

Though...definitely not head over heels about Nuss.
