I think he needs a safe space or maybe call his dad. He needs to just ignore fans like they are told to by the coaches.

Yeah, make that call and have Jack and Lil'-Bill make a return trip to straighten out Mc-Nuss on who the 2017 starter IS going to be.... ;)

He has been here for what, 3 semesters and wants to lecture us on how to be a Gator fan?

On a more serious note, it would appear that there is some dissension and bad blood among a lot of players.

That usually happens when there is politicking going on, instead of putting the 'best' players on the field on game days. Those kids invest a lot and want to win.

Now what you have to understand about UF is this. It's not always the HC that's calling the shots on game days. Some times it's like what the Wash. Redskins do, the twit with the most $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ overrules the HC on who plays.

Some of why Spurrier left maybe? Most of why Meyer left so soon? IDK, but it does make me wonder at times.....

I hope he will just delete the tweets and shut up. Move on if he doesnt like it. People know how fans are.

Damn he is taking it even farther. Cant believe the coaches havent had him delete his account or something.

I think he said we were fair weather fans. While that is true, it's not very smart of him to say it publicly.

Not only that he's on his third school. Lmfao. Wtf does he know about sticking anything out or being there through tough times? As soon as he's not named the starter somewhere he transfers. Please.

I would gladly welcome Meyer back compared to what we had since his departure. I think with Meyer he just didn't think UF fans would understand they would need to rebuild every other year one side of the ball or the other. The pressure got to him and I bet he still works the same hours at OSU that he did at UF. I want Charlie Strong back as DC!!!!! The hardship with Meyer and UF is the big lie he told all the fans. Many folks need to get over it. Look what he's done at OSU? No questions ask him and Sabah are the two best in college football currently.

...because it has now been affirmatively demonstrated that Urban could never "establish" or "rebuild" a national power...please.

Exactly! Now that UM has gone on to continue what he had done here, can we not put to bed the whole he was scared to compete and lied about his health to get out?

I don't even think it was the pressure of the job necessarily, at least not that the UF job was particularly hard anyways. OSU has been around a LONG time, and in a very traditional conference, Trust me, the fans and boosters up there have plenty of high expectations and can bring plenty of heat. And our rebuilding years would still be 2, MAYBE 3 losses if things got really tough, and we would most likely have already won the SEC again and played for a title a few times.

Amazing how little I care about his tweets....for one thing, he is pretty much irrelevant at this point, and the other thing is, he is probably right about some things he is saying.

Anybody who saw him collapse at the end of the Michigan game can see how much this guys wears wins and losses...at Florida, he had a breakdown plain and simple...Foley asked he to stay on and he did
for the good of the program...

Any myths about Urban lying or being scared have been long-since debunked. It is odd that some gators still hold on to them...

We ought to be building the dude a statute or putting him in the ring of honor or something for all he did for us...sadgator will always believe this...

He isn't right and apparently doesn't understand what being fairweather means. We've been bad for almost 10 years now...anybody who is still here ain't a fairweather fan. If they were they wouldn't even have the energy to criticize because they'd be rooting for a more successful team by now. LDR and a lot of coaches and admins have the same problem...they want all the good of a passionate fanbase with none of the bad. Pack the stadium with 90k, buy tickets that get more expensive every year, spend $20 at the concession stand for a burger, spend tons of dough traveling to road games, and pay for online content related to the team. But don't you dare have any criticism because then you aren't a real fan. Just hand over your money and shut up. And coming from a dude who transfers every time he doesn't start somewhere the irony is just too strong.

Excellent post.

And as to Del Rio...sadgator will never understand why players think it is a good idea to post stuff like that on social media...

They really need a class or clearinghouse of some kind to handle social media...

Of all the players you would think would know better...the son of an NFL coach who has grown up in the public light, would be the one...

We are supposed to hate the guy that wanted to win so bad it almost killed him, but keep cheering for the guy who says he is having a lot of fun despite multiple embarrassing losses...wtf has happened to this fan base?

To clarify, I am not saying I am OK with LDR tweeting like that, just pointing out that there is a lot to complain about....in other words, the program is in serious trouble.

PS: I never read any of his tweets, so I will withdraw any specifics on what he said, my post is based on the general tone of this thread.

Because they're young and think they know how the world works. We've convinced them that we are hanging on their every word.

sadgator actually looked up the tweets...so strange...you just open up yourself to be attacked...young men make dumb mistakes sometimes... this was certainly one.

Then he makes an equally weird tweet about "there being more to life than just football."

A response said something like..."good thing for you." That was pretty funny.

A "sincere" apology is probably forthcoming if this kid has any hope of ever being supported by our fan base again.

Yeah, not defending him, but he is more a symptom than the actual problem. I'm sure daddy had a little chat with him.

...because it has now been affirmatively demonstrated that Urban could never "establish" or "rebuild" a national power...please.
Well the main reason imo. Believe what you want but he was the one who chose to take off that way and 2010 just put the nail in the coffin even more after that beatdown in 09. He has it easy at OSU and only has to worry about Harbaugh mostly now and really no one before that. The SEC may be down now but talent wise its a much tougher conference than the Big 10 where he can have a QB that isnt quite top of the line and still be alright in winning the conference or finishing with 1 loss and getting a CFP berth.

No questions ask him and Sabah are the two best in college football currently.

I might buy that, as soon as either of them take a SCa or a Purdue to 3 consecutive 11 win seasons....

Steinbrenner wasn't the best or smartest owner in MLB, he was just the richest and willing to spend the money to BUY the best players... o_O

Talk that he is reaching out to other programs for another transfer.

LMAO. Seriously?

Spoiled rich kid syndrome. Transfer until somebody gives him a job. It's kinda funny that if he transfers he'll be like a redshirt junior next year and be like 25 years old.

We should consider paying UA to take LDR back as a walk-on.
Then send Jack and Lil'-Bill to chat with Satan... ;)

are we looking at a 20-year old version of Lane Kiffin, a kid with an NFL-dad who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple?
