Defenders are too damn big and fast, the pocket passer only quarterback is a thing of the past

Watching these games, not just today, but this season, there is a reason the top three quarterbacks are Deshaun Watson, Lamar Jackson and DeShone Kizer. They can run and pass.

Now, don't get me wrong, a purely running quarterback, say a Treon Harris, isn't desirable.

However, you are now facing defensive ends who run 4.5 forties while weighing 270 pounds. Linebackers who run like safeties and safeties who run like corners. Defenses, especially in the south, are flat out fast. In today's game you can't be a statue in the pocket, you have to be able to move around.

Even guys like Dobbs, Hurts, Barrett, who may not elite, can still offer both a run/throw mix.
