Shannon announced he is reopening the QB battle between rsFr Franks and Grad-Sr Zaire.

~ Coach Mc on picking starting QB's = Dumb (cost him his job imo)
~ Coach Shannon on picking QB's = Dumber
So, the Dumb & Dumber QB era begins at UF...

VS UGly
Franks - 7 of 19, 36.8% for 30 yards, 1.6 yds/att, 4.3 yds/comp, 0 TD, 1 Int, 1 fumble.
Zaire - 3 of 6, 50% for 36 yds, 6.0 yds/att, 12 yds/comp, 0 TD, 0 Int.
Granted Zaire was slightly better, but it was in 'garbage time' in a no win situation.

2017 Season:
Franks
Passing - 75/125 for 830 yds, 60.0%, 6.6 yds/att, 11.1 yds/comp, 4 TD, 4 Int, PER 119.9
Rushing - 40 for 183 yds, 138 loss, 45 net, 1.1 ypc (L-79 yds)

Zaire
Passing - 12/23 for 142 yds, 52.2%, 6.2 yds/att, 11.8 yds/comp, 0 TD, 0 Int, PER 104.0
Rushing - 10 for 37 yds, 36 loss, 1 net, 0.1 ypc, (L-27 yds)

Hey coach, when you supposedly RE-OPEN the QB race, why don't you add back the two that have so far been chitted by the previous coach, Trask/Allen? Either are likely better than the 2 that have been used so far. o_O
===========

M.Davis 6.7 ypc - Knee, out for season, jus-damn! :(
Lemons 6.0 ypc
Perine 4.6 ypc
Thompson 4.0 ypc
And why the heck will Thompson be getting a lot more carries, when you've got Lemons?
Thompson is probably the best receiver out of the backfield, but not the best runner by far....
==============

M.Stephens - 18.3 yds/rec
D.Goolsby - 7.7 yds/rec
C.Lewis - 5.3 yds/rec
================

I know why James Robinson has not played (heart?), but why the heck has Green not seen the field, especially with Dumbaway gone and Cleveland dinged up???
WR Daquon Green 6-1 195 **** - Tampa -- 2017 UA-AA Game
http://www.hudl.com/profile/2782912/daquon-green
~ And I might even give Tucker Nordman a play or two on game days....

PS --- Put RG F.Johnson at backup, not as a starter. When you're right next to the center and you get 2 false starts in one game, you're just not starter material, you are instead a drive killer...

~ Instead of wasting time arguing or dissing on me, just give Shannon your advice instead...

Fire Nuss.
110% hope so… He is the real reason Mac is gone… Nuss is the reason for everything offensively and honestly I would have been satisfied with Mac staying as long as Nuss was terminated because we all know the issues on offense was in fact 200000000000000000000000.99% Nuss’s fault not Mac…But Mac wanted to protect his buddy, his pal, his friend so Mac became the fall guy… IMHO I don’t know why anybody would hire Mac after this debacle!!! It’s takes a leader to do what is right and if it takes firing even your friend then it must be done…

It could be possible but I would think Mac would listen to Nuss on something like that since he seemed to be so loyal to him. I think not wanting Franks to transfer played into things.

The Colorado paper had an article ripping Mac saying how he was such an a** behind the scenes to the people that worked for him at CSU and took a jab at him hiring all new assistants for the most part when leaving telling his current ones they weren't ready for the SEC basically and then what ended up happening here with Nuss etc.. I guess he really did rub people the wrong way.

He was pretty self destructive. He fell out with his OC at CSU, who all accounts appears to have been the guy who created that CSU offense we never saw. Then he ran off Grier, who easily was the most talented qb he had. And he topped it all off by whining his way out of a $28 million contract. Strange dude.

Not sure why people keep wanting to separate Nuss from Mac. Nuss=Mac. Mac hired him because they share the exact same philosophy offensively. If anybody thinks Mac was letting him go out there and do whatever the hell he wanted on offense they're way out of touch. Nuss is terrible but so is McElwain. People keep wanting to point to his time at Bama but that offense was basic as all hell, they did nothing creative and just lined up and ran over people. That's precisely why Saban dumped that entire philosophy when he wanted to 'open it up.' Most in the fanbase got sold a bill of goods...Mac was never any offensive genius. Just another bum benefiting by working under Saban and all the talent provided to them.

I said the day he was hired that it was just going to be an extension of Champ offensively. At Bama Mac had 5 NFL OL and 3 NFL RB. He thought he could translate that, find a game-manager and do it here. The guy was the worst hire in my time as a UF fan.

if we missed again, i don't even know if I could handle it anymore as a human.. But I think it's impossible, you'd have to almost try and hire Charlie or something and hamstring him..

I wonder if Gundy still has interest, I don't see why not...

We can get the most out of him with Zaire at QB honestly, and maybe mix and match a little bit if you want.. But Zaire should have been playing long ago, this season has been a joke and a waste.. He played at the end of a lost game, and never got seen again...

until the same situation again Saturday, regardless of the situation.. Immediately what he did with his feet to extend plays is exactly what we needed against them, I don't doubt he could have kept it a game for awhile at half and changed the whole game plan on both ends.. Certainly wouldn't have seen the driskel miserable shit again we saw with the multiple turnovers, sack jeff fumbles for TDS'. Franks is awful, Wideouts and stale plays or not, he can't see anything in front of him.. And if youre team is that bad, then let Zaire run around and create. Simple

WTF is the deal with Trask? Is he a stiff? I don't know one damn thing about him other than he's a big boy. Starting Zaire or Toney is about as foresighted as wishing Treon Harris was still here. They are the same guy. Teams will just put 9 in the box.

Franks is just flabbergasting. All the tools except a brain. Maybe a new coach will be the Wizard to bequest the scarecrow one? God help us if we don't get Corral. I'm sure I am not the only one but I can't tell you how many times I've seen WR's run wide assed open and Franks locks eyes with one guy and will throw into triple coverage to the same. Nuss is terrible but not sure that can be overcome even with coaching.

In a perfect world we hire Kelly or Frost and move Toney to QB next year. Yes lawd! With him and Corral all of a sudden we'd have two athletic QB's with big arms and good coaching.

Trask/Allen are already both better QB's than Franks will ever be.

Toney is already a better dual threat QB than Zaire will ever be.

Trask and Allen in a battle for the 1-2 spots.
Toney as the change of pace Wild-Gator QB.
Toney as a Harvin type WR/RB the rest of the time.

LDR & Zaire both off of the ship 'gravy-train' ASAP.
Franks encouraged to xfer to a 2nd tier school, or anywhere else that want's him.

2018 - A real battle/competition between rsSo Trask, rsFr/So Allen, and incoming Fr Corral for the 1-2-3 depth chart, while keeping Toney as the Wild-Gator+.

Too bad Davis went down, him and Zaire could do some damage running zone read. In fact, probably good for Mac, because he would really look like an ass if Nuss came killing it with Zaire as QB

I have a feeling it's going to look better regardless, especially because of Zaire.. He's the best QB that's been on this roster no matter what insta thinks or people that have never been around any of these judgements or decisions. I know other coaches that think the same thing as well..

He's been wasted, and he's the most seasoned, athletic guy with the mind to run a game as the signal caller

he can throw slants and simple shit too, and do much more on his own from creating and making plays last.. he knows who his play makers are. If he's playing we will see more production probably immediately, to show how much mac really hurt them...

Zaire/Franks. Either one starting the rest of the season is just marking time imo.

With a new Head Coach in 2018, it will be a contest between Trask, Allen, and Corral. I'd be fine with any of those 3, especially after watching the total cluster that has been Gator QB'ing for the last 3 years.

Just a FYI...

One Vegas sports book has Scott Frost as the clear favorite to be the next Florida football coach.

In two years, Frost has turned the UCF from a team that had gone 0-12 before he arrived to 7-0 this season and ranked #18 in the CFP rankings. He’s proven that he can develop QB's — just look at his time with Marcus Mariota at Oregon and what he has done with Mckenzie Milton at UCF the past 2 years.

Others out there could also probably get the job done, but I'm seeing Frost as the next coming of an SOS type of coach. (crosses fingers)

I’ll say it again, by season’s end people will see just how bad Mac was

Now, moving right along...

Holy Mackerel, I just made this very comment on this board recently, and now I find this article from Mike Balonkey-head at the Slantinal...

Steve Spurrier, the creator of the Fun ’N Gun offense and the man who once turned the Florida Gators into the most frolicking, rollicking, exciting, entertaining college football program in the land, seems to believe UCF coach Scott Frost could be the second coming of himself.

"Some people believe whoever has the best players is going to win, but that’s not always the case in football, where there are so many tactical decisions on how you do things.” -- SOS

We should put together a list of all his dumbass predictions. It may break the board.

Who in the world am I supposedly sucking up to?

Anyone in your own circle of jerks that disagrees with me on any topic. o_O

But at least you didn't contend my observation that you're a moron/loser...
I guess because it's so evident to anyone that's not brain-dead...

Now, where did I leave that IGNORE button....

someone obviously didn't watch the game, Zaire put together more drives and kept things alive with his feet more than that pussy screech looking mu****a Frankie.. Shannon was just somehow more conservative settling for FG's and Nuss was literally STILL using PA fakes and nonsense with 22 seconds left in the game.. Again, I don't know how many times people need to say it for your circle jerking of coaches you had full faith in until they were finally, rightfully pink slipped after last weekends nightmare debacle.. Zaire did the most you can with predictable pathetic play calling where the other team knows the plays AND snap count, the way bama knows peoples plays and were jumping routes and even utah shovel passes last night like stealing signals in baseball.. If Zaire were to stay next year and get another medical shirt he would be one of the QB's in rotation and look much better, because he's much better than that white kid signal caller running the offense for Frost..

Stop pretending like you know more than people on the board that have actually played football their whole lives beyond the pee wee mighty mite level, if you even played at that level and people that coach like myself.. for the record my resume was sent in to Stricklin for support staff directly from my Gainesville connections, once you see that this account is deactivated you better get used to the idea of this circle member possibly being employed by your favorite alumnus.. Only Danny knows the details so far, iv'e been put in touch with the right people and got direct connections with the right people running our football program behind closed doors..

Would you care to point out to us what kind of defenses and fronts Mizzou was running against us, or could you even point out simple coverages being the football wizard you are.. Without looking for help or using google, please, enlighten all of us and tell us what defensive fronts and coverages these are and what techniques these are... Let's see just how smart you are for once besides all the bitchin piss and moaning you do.. since you are just flat above us all lets' see you go inside the film room and teach ALL us Gator fans a thing or two genius...

Looks like the best advice to Shannon would have been: politely decline. He might not have a career left by the time he drags this group across the finish line. Has there ever been an in-season interim coach firing?

oh, and a zzzzz won't suffice, or we will all just assume what we already know.. that you don't know shit about football while talking down to people that do...

doesn't matter if you're wrong, at least show us what you got old man, ill give you credit for at least attempting basic film work for guys in my line of work...

Watching ole idiot-#'s bust a vein was worth the price of admission. Especially when the price was zero, equal to his own net phootball worth.

That village idiot boy really blows up whenever his own rampant stupidity is displayed for all to see. :D And IF they hire you for anything more than refilling the Gatorade bottles, then the AD and all of his subordinates in the hiring process will need to be fired immediately, no matter how many butts you've kissed to get there.

And here #'s goes yet again,,, throwing out his 'straw-men' at me, while missing by a mile.

As I said above, which blind chitlin numbers must have missed:
"Zaire/Franks. Either one starting the rest of the season is just marking time imo." So telling me how much better Zaire is than Franks, has me ROTF LMFAO... :D Talk about your smartest village idiot, sitting on the highest wall...

BTW, I don't need to be a master carpenter to know that someone has left the barn door open and the horse is gone. Just like I don't need the technical physics of combustion to know that a turned on water hose will put out most small fires....

Malik Zaire 2017 Stats:
Rushing - 16 for 58 yds, Loss 40 yds, Net 18 yds, 0 TD's, 1.1 ypc.
Passing - 25 of 42, 59.2% for 300 yds, 7.1 yds/att, 0 TD's - PER 114.76
>>> HE FREAKIN' SUCKS, BUTTWIPE.

But it's all on the coaches and/or the system, right???
Accept that all 4 QB played in the same system...

Zaire PER 114.76 ----- 1.1 ypc
LDR PER 115.57 ------ -4.5 ypc
Franks PER 124.78 --- 1.1 ypc
Toney PER 260.00 ----- 9.0 ypc --- 9.58 yds/rec

While both Trask & Allen are smarter QB's and both have more accurate arms.

And that's why I said to play either Trask or Allen with Toney as the Wild-Gator plus WR/RB.... o_O
