Gay marriage doesn’t bother me, let people live. Abortion bothers me but not for the reasons you’d assume.

Are you guys bothered by groups telling congress what to do and writing bills for them?

Nobody on the conservative side that I know is ok with it. That being said, this is literally how governments are being run at state congressional levels, and federal levels. on both sides and it's shit. I do find it funny, that you found this on Mother Jones, and it just so happened to be negative on GOP. Nothing on the dem side I suppose? goodness. Why does everything have to be political?

Abortion bothers me when it's taken to the extreme, it's murder at a certain point obviously, when I don't know. If you want an abortion get it as soon as possible.

He’s joking
I'm really not. Board has become unreadable.

It's like reading Aaron Rupar start clickbait liar threads all day, and Trump supporters attempting to engage him as if his clickbair lies are worthy of debate.

We keep coddling the trolls, and more come here as a result. Place is starting to look as shitty as Gay Bay.

I passed by the Walnut Creek center every time I got a haircut, Walnut Creek is pretty dang white. But I wouldn't argue this, I really don't know.
If you ever get bored then look into it, it’s pretty interesting

As much as I disagree with the act of abortion, that decision is between a patient and a doctor. Who am I to tell another person what to do? I don’t have that right. It irritates me that PP is government funded and performs the most abortions yearly. Another thing I hate my tax dollars funding.

And yes, I do pay taxes, every year 😉😂😂😂

I stand corrected 😂😂😂

I stand corrected 😂😂😂
I'm weird, the trolls themselves and how they troll never bother me.

I simply cannot stand liars. What's worse, I can't stand when good people end up giving liars every benefit of the doubt, only to get taken advantage of every time.

@kalimgoodman's actual trolls are completely meaningless. I couldn't care less.

But I can't stand liars, and we don't help anyone when we don't call them out as such.

You know I’m all for stirring the pot to invoke a reaction and I do agree with you on calling them out, but to me, it’s all in fun brotha. We’re never really going to change each other’s minds so have fun roasting one another.

I know nothing about mother Jones. Truly don't. It just popped up on my Twitter feed. Sometimes you guys over think everything.

That being said, I hate all political action groups and dark money. You'll never see me defend that.

That's fine. Mix the Florida and FSU fans together like it is on the Blue Board and it's a lot of fun.

Problem is, this board now has about 5 Bucanoles running around claiming they are really Florida fans. And all the Florida fans are engaging them and trying to reason with them as if they are telling the truth.

Just gonna lead to more Bucanoles showing up. Seen this happen waaaaay too many times over the years.

No matter what side of the isle, dark money is a horrible thing. I’m my opinion, one of the easiest ways to corrupt a government.
It has corrupt government. I know that senator Coons of Delaware take alot of money from banks in Wilmington Delaware. They deal mostly with corporations.

Mother Jones = Vox = Salon = etc., etc., etc.

Could have told you what it was going to say w/o reading it. Very easy to dismiss stuff from publications with a nonsensically one-sided agenda ...

That is main thing I've learned from you. 99% of the people on here, won't change their minds. They'll just change the subject.

To your credit, you did open my eyes to how involved the FBI was with that Russia stuff. So it's possible to change some people minds but unlikely haha.

I hear you and I didn't read the article. I just watched the video. Unless it's a deep fake, that is definitely that lady talking about influencing representatives. When it's a video, who post it is irrelevant to me.

Same thing with videos. You can bet your bottom dollar that whatever is presented will reflect a particular point of view, print or otherwise ...

When it's just a clip, then I'll agree but not when she talks that much. Ignore his commentary, which I did. I didn't mention the voter suppression lies he was saying. I just focused on what she was saying. She clearly said "we drafted the bills". Sometimes you have to see through your dislike for a publication and focus on the evidence.

BTW, years ago I was on a board like this, but it was centered on religion, not politics. You can imagine what a cluster it was.

For some reason the Christians ended up mostly being the conservatives, and the athiests, agnostics were always the dems.

Anyway, it was 24/7 fighting all day every day. But to everyone's credit, we were all honest about who we were and our beliefs. There were no liars around. A lot of ignorance, yes. But no one intentionally misrepresenting who they were or what they believed.

There was one girl who occasionally posted there, she admitted she was an atheist, but she was pretty level-headed in her posts. She'd just say 'here's what I believe about that', and then go away. Often, Christians would get upset because its religion and emotions are involved. I pretty much left her alone cause she wasn't starting shit and I can respect someone who has different opinions as long as they present them calmly and respectfully. She did.

So one night when the board is having it's typical knock-down drag out, she DMs me. She says she wants to try an experiment. She said she wanted me to tell her why she should become a Christian, then she was going to tell me why I should be an atheist.

It was one of the best conversations I've ever had. Both of us calmly and carefully explained why we believed the way we did. If I remember correctly, she said she had grown up a Christian, but later a family member died in an accident and she didn't understand why God would let that happen. So she decided to become an atheist. At the end, neither of us changed each other's mind, but we both completely understood the other's point of view.

Funny thing is, we both kinda checked out of the nonstop fights over religion on the board. After that it was kinda easy to see what a complete waste of time it was.

So many people have so much emotional attachment to their opinions being 'right' that they refuse to listen to anyone who thinks differently. That's how you learn, and usually you learn more about yourself than anything or anyone else.

A few years ago, Trump visited Japan. As part of the visit, he and the Japanese Prime Minister stopped to feed some fish in a koy pond. Both of them were given a box of fish food, and a small spoon.

The PM started spooning out food, Trump kinda looked around, and scooped out a very tiny amount and carefully drops it in the water. The PM looked at him and said he could give them a little more, it was ok. So Trump carefully scooped out a slightly larger amount and dropped it in the water. The PM assured him that he wasn't going to hurt the fish, so just empty the box.

So Trump plays along, and dumps the whole box in the pond, laughing along as he does what the PM told him to do.

CNN then took the clip of Trump emptying the whole box of food into the water and laughing, and did a whole segment on how he was an IDIOT WHO WAS KILLING FISH BY OVERFEEDING THEM.

I shit you not.

CNN didn't mention that the Japanese PM told him to do that, nor did they play the part of the video before Trump emptying the box.

@kalimgoodman probably watched it and was furious at Trump.

We have seen crap like that time and again, sadly. Context matters ...

Oh I know. I saw plenty in my days. I remember when Trump said "oh Biden is shot, here comes Kamala" they were spinning it as Trump saying Biden will get shot, with the clip. When in reality, he was saying shot, like a washed up athlete. The media can be stupid and vindictive.

Obviously the article is a lie. The GA law was not a voter suppression law.

Is media anything but?
I just fear that the media turned us that way. Just look at how some of us can't have simple conversations. Some people think everything is an agenda. It's pretty sad. How many times have you said both sides suck? But you get called names for not agreeing with the right but when you agree with the right, crickets. So I think we all can be stupid about things and definitely vindictive.

'Remember to hold back 50% for the Big Guy'

This has been brought up repeatedly, and you didn't want to discuss it, and attacked those who brought it up.

But you just randomly found a tweet from Mother Jones that alleges a pub did something, and suddenly you care?

When you call for an investigation and impeachment of the Hidens for their dirty money with Ukraine and China, then we'll believe you care.

A true independent would have no trouble calling out the Big Guy.

"The Big Guy? Who the hell is that supposed to be??? Something Fox made up, you guys will believe anything!"

Such a shitty troll..
