I have always said that Kentucky could go 14-1, beat Bama twice to win the National Title.....and still lose to Florida. I used to post here all of the time, but I haven't had nearly as much time, thanks to work. Obviously, that is not going to happen, but my point remained true, until tonight. I am not giddy, happy, or excited. I am more relieved; now I think Kentucky can move to the next level. I think from a mental standpoint, that this was the win that the program needed. The only bigger win might be against Bama.

But anybody can appreciate how it must have felt for 31 year old Kentucky fans to finally witness that. I cannot tell you Florida folks what it feels like to be a 72 year old fan, having followed the Wildcats since 1959, after this monumental win. The last time I felt this way was when I was in Athens, GA walking across that campus after UK laid a licking on the Dawgs of 33 to 0 between the hedges. I was pretty low last year, as you can imagine, after losing to the Gators in the manner we did, but this morning, my feelings more than make up for all those loses. But, to win in the Swamp... well, let's just say... that is really, really special.

The streak probably meant a lot more to UK than it did to us. Honestly, it wasn’t something sadgator really enjoyed celebrating. From a fan perspective it became almost this weird unrealistic burden to bear. sadgator was almost uncomfortable with it, because it just placed bigger emphasis on each game than was necessary.

Not gonna say that sadgator was happy to see it end, but it was clearly time for it to stop.

You guys probably experienced a lot more joy seeing it end than we experienced sadness. Any gator fan who can’t empathize with what a relief that must be for your fans to finally witness is a loser. It’s just a game. You all really deserve to appreciate what your team did. It was quite an accomplishment.

Really do hope you beat either Tennessee or UGA...primarily for selfish reasons...but sadgator would also have no problem seeing UK in the SECCG.

The best Kentucky team I have seen in my life was that '07 team that beat the eventual champions of LSU. Don't know how well this team stacks up, but I would rather see them win the east than Georgia. It would be refreshing, if I can't see my team win it all, then I want to see chaos and new blood get a shot.

Sadgator this is how I see it, at least you lost the game and streak to a decent Kentucky team, the Tennessee streak ended to a really bad Kentucky team with a wide receiver playing QB for the first time...

Football and all KY fans have respected your teams for years. For 31 years we have had some close ones and too many butt kickings to forget. All things come to end and so has this one.
