Just tells you Foley made two consecutive TERRIBLE hires. Its really sad someone could miss that bad twice in a row.

It's hard to find a good football coach. There are more bad hires than good, but he did definitely whiff on the last two. Muschamp I give him somewhat of a pass, because he was a pretty hot candidate, and he at least can really coach and recruit one side of the ball. But he got suckered by Mac.

He aced the baseball hire and looks like he aced hoops as well. Probably doesn't mean much to the UAA in terms of revenue but it at least distracts me from the state of our football program.

He missed on a few baseball hires before hitting a grand slam with Sully. Don't forget he hired Billy D as well and it looks like Mike White is going to be a great hire also. For some reason he just didn't do as good of a job on his football hires. Maybe it was complacency that had set in when it came to the football program.

Can't really imagine better hires than Billy D and Sully.

He did well in most of the other sports. And I agree the Muschamp hire, though I always hated it, was a decent attempt at the time. Where I fault him to no end is going back to the same well a second time after Chump failed so badly. That was just beyond poor decision making. The Mac hire is where Foley really screwed the whole thing up. And it was a stubborn mistake to try and imitate Saban a second time. Thats the inexcusable part. Basketball on the other hand, well done

Mary Wise, Mike Holloway, Becky Burleigh, Tim Walton, Amanda O'Leary, Roland Thornqvist, Gregg Troy, Rhonda Faehn were all superior hires. To me Jeremy Foley was the best AD in the country during his tenure at Florida. We easily forget that when Muschamp was hired he was coach in waiting at Texas and was the most highly thought of assistant coach in the country. Everybody thought he was a sure thing as a head coach. Zook was kind of panic hire and McElwain I can't figure out. Even Jesus missed one of the 12 apostles.
