What Steve built up should never be undone. Think about it. How often did Urb put us in those. Urb knew.
You guys took a big "orange" step back in the late 70's with the helmet change from white to the current orange. The blue lettering with white outline over a dominant orange background looked like the popular "Sunkist" orange color combo. The UF colors were very much ORANGE & blue.
UF had typically been "blue". In the 1979 home game against FSU, UF wore Orange Jerseys over white pants. That remained the home game combo for ten years.
The orange helmet looks great with the blue jerseys. Orange jerseys, not so much. Looks way too much like clemson.
And I wish we would go back to blue pants on the road, that was a good look too.

I agree, dump the orange jerseys.
I wish they'd go to blue jerseys, white pants, and bring in the white helmet with the block F. In fact, I wish the whole athletic department would dump the zippy forward leaning F and go back to the block F or UF.

Florida should wear orange jerseys, blue pants and a blue helmet. A blue helmet would in fact make the Gators decal stand out. They wear orange to represent Gatoraide.
Amen I hate those things...they are a curse to the Gator Nation.

See that's part of the reason I want to go back to the white helmets, it's muc cleaner. There's hardly any consistency with our orange and blue on that helmet. Sometimes it's a dull orange, other times we look like we're in a Sunkist commercial. Then sometimes our blue is really bright and other times it's almost a navy color, I hate it. I always ask myself WWSD? Steven Orr would want the white helmets.
SOS pretty much did what he wanted:
Natural grass. Check.
Double reverse pass in Athens. Check.
Punt on third down. Check.
Switch from predominately orange to predominately blue. Check.
If he had wanted white helmets, he would have gotten white helmets.
