I'm thinking this guy is going to go down as the worst college football coach in history. I pretty much said as much the day he was hired and he was blaming the entire state of the program on 85 players he said had no business being anywhere near a football field.

I really think it's going to come sooner than later that the UT fans and their administration wake up to reality and realize that they hired a doofus yet again who has absolutely no clue what he's doing. He won't get the 5 years or so that Butch Jones got. After he loses to Chattanoogie, and then us, he most likely won't make it through the season.

We need to start raising money now to make sure he can get a contract extension this year that makes his buyout inconceivable. To do that we'll need a LOT of funding for one of the most massive PR campaigns in human history I'm thinking.

I'm sure someone has a counter going someplace, number of days since UT last won a football game. Getting close to 365 already at this point.

The guy is a terrible head coach. He may be worse than Taggart
yeah I'm sticking up for FSU here, but I don't see Taggart blaming every loss on his players. Saying how the talent at UT is the problem and he needs to bring in better players. Nobody in the world can convince me that UT had less talent than Georgia State and BYU.

At least Taggart is a man and accepts responsibility from the looks of it, not making excuses.

Just how long the UT fanbase can be delusional enough to believe Pruitt's excuse that he doesn't have the players to win is beyond me. I can't imagine they will accept that by year 3.

Excuse me but, didn’t Taggart have THE EXCUSE that his players weren’t properly hydrated during the Boise St. game? Talk about an excuse, the FLORIDA TEAM wasn’t prepared for the heat like THE IDAHO TEAM?

And now with The Athletic Department DEEP in the RED, Taggart has hired Jim “punch a player” Leavitt to assist his Defensive Coordinator in game planning. He keeps hiring coaches until he gets it right I guess.

No Taggart just blamed the loss on the athletic trainers instead.

That wasn't so much of an excuse, but it was in all probability a truthful statement to see a team score 31 points in the 1st half then nothing in the 2nd half. Dehydration of the team is a VERY valid cause of how their offense and defense collapsed the way it did.

Now, the part where I am defending Taggart in this is, he didn't BLAME HIS PLAYERS. If dehydration is the excuse, then that is on the trainers and the coaching staff for not properly hydrating the players and being prepared. Possibly on the conditioning program where the team wasn't properly set up to play the full 60 minutes in the heat and humid weather. At no point did Taggart say his players suck and shouldn't be anywhere near a football field. THAT is the difference between him and Pruitt. At no point in 18 months has Jeremy Pruitt actually owned up to his team's failures and said it was all on him and that he is responsible for not preparing the team, not having them set up to win. It's always someone else, generally his players who are at fault.
