California took another step toward its goal of ridding the state of all gas-powered engines thanks to a new bill signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Saturday.

The new law will ban the sale of all off-road, gas-powered engines, including generators, lawn equipment, pressure washers, chainsaws, weed trimmers, and even golf carts. Under the new law, these machines must be zero-emissions, meaning they will have to be either battery-powered or plug-in, according to the Los Angeles Times

Tesla is moving it's headquarters to Austin. Toyota North America completed it's move from Torrance, Kalifornia to Plano, Texas.

A Kalifornia migrant told me Kalifornia will become the land of Tom Cruise and the homeless. Sacramento is driving the middle class out.

The night that Newsom won* the recall election,, I saw the most telling comment on Twitter from a Californian:

"He's going to punish us now, isn't he?"

California is officially the liberal petri dish where they will plant all their worst socialist.marxist/communist ideas. California will be where they introduce and normalize the insanity of the party's worst vices.

As soon as Huy Fong foods moves to Texas, I have no further use for Kalifornia.

Are you f*cking kidding me. No generators? Good luck powering your houses during wildfire/mudslide season, you morons.

It doesn’t make any sense since generators are used for power outages. I know they have battery powered stuff, but if you need to power an AC after a hurricane, you’re gonna need gas. If they tried this in Florida, people would revolt.

And Kalifornia has their traditional miles and miles of bonfires every year. I'm sure dMF'er Gator is creaming his pants wishing he still lived in San Fran.

Wait until CA experiences their usual summer brown outs. No problem, just energize that generator by plugging it in..........oh wait.........................   😂😂

It's not "no generators". This would be acceptable. Maybe not acceptable to you, but acceptable under the law.

Also, it's a strong argument to redo the roof with solar panels. Would have a lot less need for a generator if you were supplying your own power.

$2500 dollars for an 1800 watt generator? That thing will run a toaster and recharge a couple of iPhones.
Meanwhile I can get a gas model with double the output from Walmart for $319.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sportsma...p.ds&msclkid=e7324646c15b14795b132722ebc3b827

Who the hell is going to pay to redo their roof with solar panels?
I looked into it and it was around $75k for the system. It had a 10-yr lifespan on the batteries and an 8yr payback...sounds like the economics from congressional democrats.

This is not an issue where people hate the environment. The market will dictate when the masses switch to solar and right now the technology isn't robust enough...it works but batteries wear out. By mandating people to switch will not drive the cost down...especially if the government ends up subsidizing this in some way (and you know that's coming next).

It's a generator. It's acceptable under the law. I never claimed it was a GOOD generator, in fact, I clearly stated it might not be good enough for you. But Evil said "no generators", and it's not "no generators". If he had said "no generators acceptable for the need", that would have been another argument entirely.

Also, it's not 75K for a solar system on the average home. According to this website, the average cost for a 2000 sq ft home system is $18,000. An 8 year payback at 12% interest is $292.55 per month, certainly lower than your monthly electric bill. Not calling you out for the 75K quote, but how many years ago was that? Prices have been dropping. Batteries may have a 10 year lifespan but I bet they can be reconditioned and reused.

I am not swayed by your rebuttal.

Dam, that must be it. My new neighbor, who hasn't mowed their grass in well over a month, must be from CA.

California is a weird state. They are also requiring stores to sell gender-neutral toys by 2024.

So Chicago's gun problem is caused by people buying guns in other states and bringing them in....but you can outlaw generators and everyone will just accept it?

We have eBay. All this law does is put money into the gray market and make generators way more expensive for people.

Liberals never think past their nose.

Close, but not exactly what the new law is.

Stores must have a gender-neutral aisle if they sell toys...so I guess you're right in the sense that gender neutral toys will be needed to fill said aisle. But I think it's more about taking currently available gender neutral toys and putting them in their own aisle.

It's because parents are too stupid and bigoted to let their son buy a Barbie. Boys can't buy pink stuff, every parent knows that. And don't get me started on little girls and matchbox cars.

I will never understand liberalism. And I don't want to. I feel sorry for businesses without the means to relocate out of that state.

So that government overreach is acceptable IYO?

And didn't this whole thing start because one of the CA Politicians daughter got upset about a toy being for boys only. Of course, not sure who told her that it was for boys only and also not sure why the parents didn't just tell her she can buy/play with any toy she wants, but hey, lets make a new law.

Anything you don't like is "overreach".

Where was this "overreach" complaint when DeSantis tried to usurp local rule from School Boards?
And I guess anything you DO like is NOT overreach, right. So I guess when Pritzger DOES usurp (your word) local rule from school boards in a different direction, that's ok, right. But why should you know that when the national propagandists (I don't call them media) will only go after DeSantis, their boogy man. But I am very familiar with the Illinois governor since I live here. Maybe you should acquaint yourself with some blue state governors and policies around the country because apparently you're only versed in DeSantis itis.

Acceptable under the law does not constitute useful.

My son (five at the time) saw a Cabbage Patch Kid little boy with blonde hair like his and a football jersey on. He wanted it. So he got it. Never played with it - just wanted one because his sister made such a fuss over hers. Sibling rivalry!

Amazingly he grew up just fine. Married, two kids. His son likes to beat up his sisters Barbie Doll just to make her mad. Kids. 🙄

True story. Friend of mine's husband died a couple of years ago. Way too young in fact. She was telling me she had solar panels. I asked her why, she said her late husband was a gadget nut and was gullible. She's got a 5000 sq ft home on Guana Lake in PVB. They paid about 75k for the panels. The deal is they sell the electricity back to the utility. It's a horrible deal, it's not an even swap. Her electric bills are still $500 a month. FTS.

How much are you saving every month from your solar panels?

Notice @LizardGrad89 isn't talking about how much HE saves from solar panels?

Cause he doesn't have them. There's a reason why.

Solar can't produce enough energy to make up for the cost. No idea why libs can't be honest about this. Great idea, but the technology simply costs too much, not to mention you often have to destroy your house and property to install them.

A few decades in the future, the cost might have lowered to a point where they are a feasible option.

Congrats on spelling usurp correctly, though.
Article IX, section 4(b) of the Florida Constitution states, “The school board shall operate, control and supervise all free public schools within the school district and determine the rate of school district taxes within the limits prescribed [by the constitution]."

Anything in Florida Statutes that goes beyond that is overreach and usurpation. This mask mandate issue is only the latest in a long series of state overreaches into local government control.

I find it hilarious that the state folks bitch and moan that the feds are encroaching on state's sights when they are doing the exact same thing to local rights enshrined in the state constitution.

I also find it hilarious that you think you have any capability which would allow you to talk down to me.

Then you're easily amused, dipshit. Research the issue before an Administrative court now as to the state's case. We shall see how it turns out.

Oh, and you should be flattered that I'm acknowledging your sad little existence.
