I watched a show a couple of months ago on how the "rising sea levels are adversely affecting Cuba's coastline". They showed many houses being washed into the ocean. They talked about how the government will not let Cubans maintain homes near the ocean in hopes of moving the coastline back and make it easier to maintain long term.
What they DIDN"T talk about was, if this is true, why are we not seeing the same issues 90 miles away in Florida?
What they DIDN"T talk about was, the fact that not allowing maintenance on the homes makes the MORE susceptible to being washed away.
What they DIDN"T talk about was that beach erosion occurs everywhere and coastlines are dynamic, but in the US we re-nourish - and sometimes armor - the beaches to keep the coastline more static. Hmmm, think that might have something to do with the homes being washed away? Nah, of course not. Why investigate the obvious truth.
