The White House has reportedly embraced a declaration by a group of scientists arguing for a “herd immunity” strategy to deal with America’s coronavirus pandemic—days after the validity of the declaration came under question due to a number of apparently fake names among its expert signatories, including “Dr. Johnny Bananas.” According to The New York Times, on a call convened Monday by the White House, two anonymous administration officials cited the petition, titled The Great Barrington Declaration, which argues that COVID-19 should be allowed to spread through the population. The declaration’s website claims the petition has been signed by more than 15,000 scientists, but, last week, Sky News found dozens of fake names on the list of medical signatories, including Dr. I.P. Freely, Dr. Person Fakename, and Dr. Johnny Bananas.

So let me propose a question to you if you don’t mind, What is an accurate definition of herd immunity?

Im no expert, but I understand it takes something like 60 to 70% exposure to develop herd immunity. We are far from that.

I will point out to you that we have already probably reached 50 to 60% exposure to this virus in this country if you include the millions of people that were exposed but either never caught it or never had symptoms or were never tested. A cold virus like this Leads to massive exposure.

I think I did answer it. I said 60 to 70%. Im not sure where you are getting your 50 to 60% figure from, but obviously I meant contracted the virus, including the a symptomatic people. Maybe some people are naturally immune, I guess, but I haven’t seen that.

Ghost is one of those unique narcissistic personality disorders that is so severely narcissistic that they cannot admit they’re wrong no matter How many times or how many people prove that they’re wrong. I often wondered if that was the same ghost because they certainly both seem to have that problem.

But everybody has traits of personality disorders in their personality and I certainly have traits of narcissism if that makes you feel better
To be fair, I freely admit I am brilliant, and enjoy seeing those of lesser intelligence question my conclusions as I know it opens the door for me to later remind all of my brilliance when I am proven right. Like I said, I’m no expert but my understanding is that herd immunity is when there is such a prevalence of people that have contracted the virus and therefore immune from passing it on to others. I’ve heard the 60 to 70% figure.

I posted an article a month or so ago that said closer to 20%. That would be 66M and we could be getting close because not everyone who has had it went and got tested. Most people havent been tested. So I guess it’s just a matter of opinion. I’m not sure what your source was but Johns Hopkins is pretty credible.
Well I did read an article I guess if I remember by MIT that said anywhere from 10-80% LOL in other words meaningless. Three things. I tend to be an optimist and the cruise ships topped out at 20% . Pretty much after 100% exposure. Lastly there are people with natural immunity from previous infections by similar viruses and then those with genetic immunity.
