Parler CEO John Matze announced moments ago that Apple will ban the Parler app on the Apple Store. In a statement, Matze wrote:

This was the plan: Ban the Trump supporters off Twitter and FB. They herd their followers over to Gab and Parler. Then once all the Trump supporters are on the same sites, kill the sites.

Sunday (tomorrow) at midnight Amazon will be shutting off all of our servers in an attempt to completely remove free speech off the internet. There is the possibility Parler will be unavailable on the internet for up to a week as we rebuild from scratch. We prepared for events like this by never relying on amazons proprietary infrastructure and building bare metal products.

We will try our best to move to a new provider right now as we have many competing for our business, however Amazon, Google and Apple purposefully did this as a coordinated effort knowing our options would be limited and knowing this would inflict the most damage right as President Trump was banned from the tech companies.

This was a coordinated attack by the tech giants to kill competition in the market place. We were too successful too fast. You can expect the war on competition and free speech to continue, but don’t count us out.

Seems they have servers but are not built out yet and will need another host/cloud service for a while.

Wait till Wordpress does the same. They've already started, but in limited numbers. If I recall, 90% or so of the websites on the net are running WP now.
If WP decides to go full nazi, almost all these sites will go away. And eventually they will get the same pressure from the same people to do so.

I'm on a conservative forum (well mostly) The Politics Forum. Last night the owner just made it 100% private to prevent the purge that's coming. Now we have to log in to even read it. Will be impossible to attract new members, but we live in perilous times.

WordPress (the company) only hosts sites that use WordPress.com, a paid service. The WordPress platform itself is open source, so there is nothing they can do.

Yes I was thinking of the hosting. But I'm pretty sure WP could do something as well if they wanted via updates.

WP the hosting site has already banned people. They got a relatively "big" name in the blogosphere. I can not remember who it was but they had to take their WP site to another host that runs the WP software.

This stuff has been going on since zer0 was prez just at a slower pace. You had gun sellers being "deplatformed" by banks under zer0. This is not new and the pubs just looked the other way. As a group we have to get organized and nag the hell out of the pubs to stop allowing the left to weaponize commerce and the free market against people who engage in legal activity just because a millennial is offended by it or just doesn't like it.

Wordpress is GPLed. Any updates to the platform would be considered derivatives and would inherit the same license.

Now, some Wordpress plugins require you to have an official Wordpress.com account, so that's an angle they could take.

You're probably thinking of Conservative Treehouse. They will find a way to get rid of any sites that they feel are expressing news or even values they don't like. Lean on GoDaddy a bit and inbetween hosting and domain registry, that would nuke most of the conservative internet alone.

And all this is going to do is push us closer to violence because people won't take to going from living in America to living in China in the matter of a few weeks or even months. And I think we all know the left is scared to death of Trump, and at the same time they are power hungry. They won't stop this, their fear and bloodlust for power is too great.

This is why I lost my cool when @sadgator was laughing this off. This is a very dark and violent road we are about to head down. And anyone that thinks only 'their side' will walk it, are in for the rudest of awakenings. I fear we all are.

Well I try to be optimistic that water will find its course, workarounds will be found and we as a group will be stronger for it.

But I also called it about the "gate crashing" in DC. It was much less "violent" than I thought it would be.

If it gets violent I hope it is more like the Romanian revolution than the civil war.

As for me I plan on doing the John Galt thing...you know move to the woods and do my own thing.
