A liquidity crisis at cryptocurrency lending firm Celsius has investors worried about a broader contagion that could bring down other major players in the market.

Celsius recently moved to pause all account withdrawals, sparking fears that it may be about to go bust. The company lends out clients’ funds similar to a bank — but without the strict insurance requirements imposed on traditional lenders.

Bitcoin sank below $21,000 on Tuesday, extending sharp declines from the previous day and sinking deeper into 18-month lows. The total value of all digital tokens combined also dipped below $1 trillion for the first time since early 2021, according to CoinMarketCap data.
-------------------------------

I was never really into this crypto stuff but think the people that got into bitcoin etc. at those crazy prices in the last year will be regretting it big time. I was shocked that it went from 5k when I had first looked into it much to over 67k at one point. Though there will be ups and downs I fully expect bitcoin and most of these cryptos to be lower priced a year from now than they are today.

My exchange just froze withdrawals. which is fine, my crypto is damn near worthless so I plan on leaving it where it is.

I see a lot of people are going after Matt Damon now because of this commercial he made. I have nothing against crypto but just felt it was bound to have some major pullbacks after so many people jumped into it and you heard so many acting like its trajectory would always be up. My guess would be some of these cryptos never see their highs again in the next couple of years.

A new financial system that's highly secure and that was developed to remove 3rd party lenders and corruption from the system?

And you say governments around the planet are trying to regulate it out of existance????

Huh.

Well we knew they would attack it eventually.

Governments hate any currency they can't track. They won't be happy until they can regulate cryptocurrency. The assault on cash currency is underway as we post. They won't be happy until they can issue your medium of exchange based on a social credit system, which of course they decide the merits of.

That being said, without regulation, bitcoin will come back because there is a finite amount in circulation, unlike the others. (including the US dollar). I don't own any bitcoin, mostly because at this later stage in life I can't afford the risks.

Right now is the perfect time to buy btc and eth. It's lost half its value since Biden came to office, and unless there's a global recession, it should bounce back.

I wouldn't risk that right now but of course I could be wrong. I think bitcoin could flirt with 10K during Biden's economic collapse.

oh if it drops to 10 k I'll sell my motorcycles and my car to buy bitcoin.
Do that and you'll probably become Evilzrichguy. 😂 I'm just not young enough to take the risks. I think the rest of crypto is shitcoin. Bitcoin is the only one that they can't manufacture more artificially. It's already so expensive to mine it most won't. Predictions are by 2040 no more will be mined period. If I were 20 years younger I'd do exactly what you plan on doing.

I see Ole Peter Schiff is back all over the news again. He must be in heaven right now since inflation took off with the markets plunging at the same time. I figured he might like crypto but I guess not as he says it's just a Ponzi in reality and has no real value.

Harry Dent must be in heaven now also.

They make a spaceheater that mines bitcoin. I'm buying one for Xmas.

Bitcoin and Ethereum still falling like a rock. Their drops from the high are nearing 70% I think.

I never even considered what I've called twitcoin, under any of their names.

It's metals in hand for me, in the little that I dabble around in.
I've also never lost a dime, made money every time, in the trading of various self-defense or survival items...

Land is always good, mainly because they aren't making any more of it and it's always in demand in an expanding population.

Never confuse an investment with a speculation

Investment is the dedication of an asset to attain an increase in value over a period of time.

In finance, speculation is the purchase of an asset (a commodity, goods, or real estate) with the hope that it will become more valuable over a period of time.

Looks a lot alike to me, but I've suffered with personal ignorance for decades, so ah-well.....
😏

I'll still chose to invest in gold & silver, over speculating on the future value of any twitcoins... 😉

I think now is the time to start investing in NFT. It seems to me that this is even a more stable option than investing in cryptocurrencies, since the crypto market is too volatile right now. In general, I think that sources of information like this blog https://envelop.medium.com/dao-envelops-ambassadors-program-b780d36fab73 can be especially useful for beginners who are just starting to understand the topic of nft, so I advise you to check this site.

To be honest, I didn't know that IDO cryptocurrency could bring a lot of potential for both developers and investors. That's why I want to leave this link https://cryptwerk.com/post/what-is-ido-crypto/ to an article where you will learn why this is a reliable way to start cryptoprojects or raise funds for growth and development. And the main idea of this article is that you will discover new ways to profit from acquiring a brand new coin or token.

So which is better to invest in, NFT or cryptocurrency? As for me, most people trust cryptocurrency more. Although many people just don't know what NFT is. I would buy cryptocurrency because you can definitely make money on it.

Not sure on all this stuff but I think Bitcoin is definitely overvalued still. I wish I was an early entrant when the mania took off though.

Hi guys, I have always been wondering why Bitcoin prices have been so frequently falling and rising. Sometimes within hours, not even days. That makes it really hard to predict, unless you are a professional trader like some of you here. I lost about $100 on Bitcoin in January, and when I came to https://cryptomkt.com/ I made a decision to work with Tron and other currencies. Seems more predictable. To me at least.

I completely believe you aren't shilling a crypto website.

Curious to see what Bitcoin does during the coming recession. Its surprised me with its gains since the banks have had their issues.

That depends on if the recession is global or confined to the the US. there's a reason people in other countries are getting away from the dollar.

My guess is it will be pretty much global. Biden has weakened our position with this Ukraine mess and the Russian sanctions.

I think the recession probably starts Q3 this year but it would be best for Reps if it didnt start until Q4. A little chance Q2 could be negative. If Q2 2024 GDP is negative or barely above zero the Rep nominee will very likely be POTUS. Curious if it will make the Dems ditch Biden or not.

Why would that suprise you?

If people are pulling their cash from the banking system where do you think their putting it?

They're going to regret it on the next crypto collapse but what did you think....
....depositors were putting their money under their pillows?

A couple of decades ago I bought a 1/10 Oz gold 5$ coin for $48.00.
Some friends and/or Co-workers told me that I was crazy/stupid.
How much does one 5 dollar gold coin sell for today?

Today from U.S. Gold Bureau:
E-Check/Wire = $312.07
CC/PAYPAL = $325.08

I'll put this out there. I have ZERO idea if Bitcoin is a viable investment. The dark underbelly of organized crime loves it as well as the soi latte cucks. I will say one thing in it's favor that it's the only crypto I know of that has a finite market cap. That's more than we can say for the Federal Reserve and the US dollar, so there's that.

So you made 6x your money over a couple of decades?

In fact, I know what you mean, because this question really plays an important role for many developers and entrepreneurs. In addition, when I needed to develop software, I searched for suitable resources for a long time. Consequently, in this case I'd like to mention this site amasty where there is information about development services. It helped me to optimize my activities through development, so I think you can also bring your application to perfection.

Hi guys, a nice surprise to me it was that my observations about Bitcoin got so much feeback. Glad I managed to help you in any way.

For me cryptocurrency is still a new area, where I am to learn many new things. My boss is much better in that. He said that with Bitcoin Decode I can create a live trading account then my account manager helps you configure all the settings that I need. He also mentioned a loss-stop limit which, I guess, is vitally important for the novice.
