The team and Billy Donovan mutually agreed to part ways. Several teams especially Chicago would seem to be his landing spot per ESPN.

Would he return to coaching in the college ranks?

I fully expect him to return to college. Pretty clear he was one of the best when he was coaching here.
Not saying I’d fire White for him, but anybody needing a coach would be lucky to have him. He won’t be unemployed long unless he just wants to take a break.
The nba game in my opinion doesn’t fit his style. He is a teacher and leader of men. The nba just needs you to mesh the egos and play who they give you. In college he can go get his style of players and teach them how to run his system.
All that said, best of luck to Billy D. and I’m proud to call him a gator for life.

It's too bad Billy had to scratch the itch in trying out the NBA. If he had stayed at Florida he could have been another Coach K. As it is, I wish him the best wherever he lands. But we now have Mike White and this will be like the situation with Spurrier after he left the Redskins - Both he & UF have moved on. No looking back.

Plenty of NBA teams will want him. He took OKC to the playoffs every year. This year he was a finalist for coach of the year. If they can recycle guys like Gundy and PJ I have no doubt he can stay in nba if he chooses. I would hate to see him back in college potentially coaching against us.

The Rat face coach at Puke made a very wise desision not to coach the Lakers when offered to replace Phil Jackson. I can't stomach Billy coaching Puke, Kentucky or any other school. Who knows, Mike White underachieves for a 4th straight season, we can only hope BD takes a year off, Stricklin grows a pair and fires Mike White, then BD comes back home.
I'm sure Insta will soon reply about Mike White's only good season when we had Kasey Hill and John Egbunu played together for the last time.

Will Horford still be around if Billy goes to Philly? Just not sure Chicago or Philly is a good fit for him.

Chicago could work. They are pretty bad, so they will be rebuilding the team. If they let Billy bring in the guys he wants, instead of loading him up with prima donnas, he could have a lot of success.

Too bad Joel Ebiid is looking elsewhere to play. Looks like a loaded roster in Philly that Donovan can work with like he had at OKC his first season.

Idk...Philly would be really intriguing.

what he did at OKC is nothing short of incredible. That should have beena lottery team, not a playoff team.

He doesn’t want to be a part of a rebuild. Which is why he and OKC have parted ways. Philly could be a good spot.

Ty Lue is reported the top candidate for Philly. I think I'd choose Billy over Tyronne.

Sucks because had Durant stayed.... They would have been a force together.

Well we all saw he made a b*T€h move to Golden State just to win a title. Durant was the reason OKC choked a 3-1 lead in the conference finals when he became a turnover machine.

My views on Mike White are well known and have not changed. For any that don't know or remember, there's the Mike White's 20-21 Team thread that's up for review.... 😛

No doubt you could pencil in one or two national championship tournament titles
