I have been trying to stay positive about our finish, but in what was supposed to be a big recruiting weekend I have been disappointed:
1) The guys we had on campus did not seem to be swayed. By all reports Dickerson and Simpson had "nice visists but still have us behind our rivals Bama and Clemson or FSU and UT. We also lost another OL recruit to UT midweek. We all know how big our need at OL is and it seems our offensive minded coach is going to whiff at this position like Muschamp did.
2) Also by all reports, our commits visiting elsewhere seem to be wavering Taylor and Joseph have both said that their decisions are now pending. Joseph, an LB is the other position that we can not afford to miss on, and we are headed that way now.
3) Our targets visiting elsewhere are also leaving us. Mack, Stove, NCM, and 5* that just flipped to OSU are now unlikely to sign here and 3 of 4 are unlikely to visit.
4) And this is my biggest complaint. We botched the Callahan dismissal. Unless something happened last week that required an on the spot firing, then you can't afford to get rid of him without a "value add" replacement lined up. This is a critical time where kids want to see stability and answers. If Calahan was not right good let him go. But wait until recruiting has ended or have a replacement lined up. Especially coming out of the coaches meetings where Mac 100% knew he would be needing a new guy.
5) by any realistic expectation this will be the lowest avg player rated class we have signed since prezook and it is going to occur in a coaches first full season which traditionally is their biggest.
Save your sky is falling lines and speak to the points.
