HOOVER, Ala. — New University of Florida football coach Jim McElwain showed up at his first Southeastern Conference Media Days in his traditional no-socks attire on Monday.

For Gator Nation, this was a welcome change from former coach Will Muschamp, who used to show up here each year with his traditional no-offense outfit.

McElwain, addressing more than 1,000 writers, bloggers and broadcasters at his first SEC media mania on Monday, wore a distinguished dark gray suit, an impeccable tie and a pair of designer loafers without socks. Even so, he put his best foot forward as he deftly answered every question concerning what he's going to do to fix the abysmal offense that ultimately got Muschamp fired.
