Baylor out...

Yeah. LSU is fading. But we'll have our chance to get in with FSU and Bama. No way in the world we would be left out if we somehow managed to win both of those. Hypothetically, of course.

Whoa whoa whoa, BAMA & who?

The Gator D held theGamecocks to just 3 first downs and only 44 yards through the first 3 quarters. Their 4th quarter ralley brought them back to within 3 pts with less than 5 minutes to go. Then the Gators (KT) helped to slam the door in their face for a 24 - 14 double-digit win @ Brice.

(FAU - FSU - SEC-C vs Bama - Bowl)

As to the Playoff Rankings:

Ole Miss beat Bama @ Tusky.
The following week UF beat Ole Miss by 4 TD's.
IF Ole Miss is no good or not a good win, then what's that make #2 Bama?

UF lost @ LSU, at night in Death Valley, with our backup QB, by only 7 pts on a Mad-Hatter's trick play.
LSU 34 - 24 @ Syracuse (-10) -- #1 Clemp's-son 37 - 27 @ Syracuse (-10)

IF UF win's out, they are in the Playoffs for sure. No bout-a-doubt-it...

But I thought we were supposed to be finishing 5th in the East ............ suck it Vegas!!!!
Silly Gators fan! Vegas "prognosticators" don't believe that their lines necessarily predict (future) sporting outcomes. The goal of setting their lines is primarily to entice people to place bets, and in general, to more-or-less balance the money bet on each side of the betting proposition, so they reliably get profits from the vigorish. So it seems reasonable to conclude that there was an approximate consensus in Vegas that Gator fans were so, um, saddened by the Mousefield coaching regime, that the betting line(s) needed to set the SEC-finish bar really low, to draw a profitable amount of money in bets on the Gators' side. And to entice Gator-haters to place bets encouraged by their blackened hearts, which were plausibly hoping that the Gators might perform even worse, suffering defeats from the usual suspects for the SEC-East cellar.

Only secondarily do those "prognosticators" aspire to accurately predict (future) sporting outcomes. Altho' if they repeatedly fail at the latter, they'll face failure of their businesses, and quite possibly, um, threats to their personal safety.

Yep Stanford losing and Bama winning the West pretty much assures us a spot if we beat FSU and Bama. No way they could screw us with ND now.

Why should OU jump us as they lost to TEXAS ? No way
I think I asked this question last week whenever somebody said they would jump us because they only won ONE game against a top 10 team. Sorry but a few of these teams, to include Ohio State should not be undefeated before today, they go lucky..Well looks like Urban lost so that was moot...

We're going to drop. Probably down to 13ish.

You can't have three straight miserable performances like we have, and cap it off with an overtime escape versus an 18 year old program that is currently 2-8.

Essentially we'll be at teh bottom of the 1-loss teams which honestly, is about right. We've overplayed our talent/depth level this year. Great coaching job!

That will change if we beat FSU in a solid game and will turn on its head if we somehow beat Bama. Then - "UF is a team of destiny" will be the headline.
