Is anyone watching the South Carolina and UGA game?

Muschamp has his team wearing helmets that have a Florida style script "Carolina" on their helmets.

Just because everybody recognizes it doesn't mean it's good.

That would be like Arkansas taking the pig off their lids and putting numbers on them, or Florida State removing the spear and keeping the little war stickers. Imitation doesn't work out.

I mean....it's weird because I think the Gator script is super out dated (and I'm obviously a fan of the white helmet with the F) but it's weird that they're wearing hose helmets.

And my first thought seeing them? They look cheesy and dated.

The Packers came first, in 1961. (They never had a logo on their helmets before that). It is usually reported that Coach Vince Lombardi taked “Dad” Braisher with doing this, though I have seen others claim the actual work was done by an art student. Anyway, Georgia and Grambling followed with similar (though not identical) Gs in 1964 and 1965. http://www.thesportsdesignblog.c...

Speaking of imitation^, Georgia stole Green Bays logo.

I actually like the script because it is ours. It may not be as iconic or aesthetic pleasing like Michigan, Ohio State or Notre Dames, but it let's me know it's us. I always go back to those orange T vs our script Gator images as my initial viewing of college football as a kid in the 90s. Watching Peyton Manning go off the field after throwing another game losing interception to Florida was great.

I don't HATE the script and the orange helmet, but I'm a victim of thinking that the white helmet and simple block F is sleek and classic.

Also, anything that originated from the Jimmy Carter era is no good.

I can certainly agree on the block F being nice and clean, also on the Jimmy Carter comment.
