Dealing with something now and of course VA is trying to not link it as it’s not one of the conditions covered under burn pit bill.

Any other Vets on here have any issues or deal with something similar?

Not a vet but my son-in-law served in Afghanistan in the Marines. One of his favorite duties was working the marijuana burn pit duty. Best days he was there. 😂

Is he sure it was marijuana pits and not poppy pits ?

Didn‘t know your son-in-law is a Marine, thank him for his service and his sacrifice.
My son just got promoted to Lance Corporal, he’s currently stationed at Camp Lejeune.

I'm a veteran, but I don't have any symptoms like that. Radiation and exposure to chemicals have affected my respiratory system and I have lost hearing.

I had a growth removed from my kidney that ended up being cancerous. Luckily it doesn’t appear to have spread so I just have to get imaging yearly for next 10 years. I’m only 33.

I had issues in Iraq shortly after arriving. Headaches and bloody nose weekly. Couple others had similar issues. Literally was 100-200 yards and down wind from a smoke pit at the time.

Probably won’t see it acknowledged until I’m dead unfortunately

Except this isn’t burning shitters I am talking about.
I'm pretty sure breathing in a mix of human waste and burning diesel will give you cancer.

"The Department of Veterans Affairs had for years cited a lack of evidence linking cancers and other illnesses to pits the military used to dispose of garbage, equipment and human waste by setting it on fire, letting off thick, black toxic smoke."

This is a known issue. I live VERY close to 3 large military bases here in NW Florida...and this is something the people who have been down range complain about all of the time. I believe it to be real. The Vets that were in the second Gulf War have a syndrome that most believe was caused by burning chemical weapons. Not by a pit, but when the places were bombed. I can promise you that our media lied to us about WMD's...they WERE there. Maybe not in the big bulk that was expected...but they were there. Most here believe they ended up in Syria.

Yea it’s pretty wild the stuff they burned in them.

Yeah, he hated it too. It was during Obama's tyrannical rule. They treated our soldiers like shit. Made them pay for their own gear a lot of times, and they don't get paid jack. My wife sent him care packages all the time. Stuff like durable socks.

And it was weed. Tons of it. He sent pictures. The CIA probably confiscated the poppies to sell on the open market. 😂

Yep, my son has to pay for all his gear too.
He got a raise with his promotion but he/they still don’t get paid what they deserve for the job(s) they do.

Wow. Appreciate your service to our country. I will pray that you get the medical attention you deserve and may God's healing hands lay on you. God bless.
