Some are trying to argue due to age he needed to try it this season but I disagree.
I think he could have been a 2nd round pick and got much more money if he stayed another year and improved his game some.
Patrick Young was about the only guy I think we had that made a big mistake staying in college too long. I think he would have been a 2nd round pick if he came out after his sophomore year.
This is our 4th straight year with no player drafted. I hope that doesn't start hurting recruiting against the bigger programs. This past season should help in that regard however.
Kentucky has had 14 players drafted in the past 4 years.
FSU has had 3 players drafted in the past 2 years (luckily the FSU coach isn't a good game day coach)

Well what other SEC team ever really has that many drafted other than one or us? if they do then it's just one stud those teams have for like 3 years at least that develops, and uk's players getting drafted, 14? Just continues to show how bad of a coach cal is and how little he actually gets done with them in a sport most easily dominated by highly star rated players in a simple game with only 5 kids on the court built to dominate with trees, they never have any shooters.. D rob, like Pat can't score enough to play in the NBA, at least Pat could defend and rebound really well... But when you are 6'8 now you have to be able to shoot like Carmelo now in this league...
On the other side of it, I always laugh when people ask me why guys that can shoot like Marshall henderson aren't playing in the nba? Who the hell are they gonna guard every night at like 6'2-6'3ish tops or get their shots off guarding them at least 2-4 inches on a nightly basis in the league

Cal claimed in an interview no one has ever done what he has done with all these Final 4 teams loaded with mostly freshman implying if that wasnt the case he would have a bunch of national championships.
Cal has been far more successful than I thought he would be at getting prima donna elite athletes to play at high level AS A TEAM For one year. Plus he has managed to stay out of NCAA trouble.
That he has had only one NC is not surprising to me. That he has had so many teams get so deep in the tournament so often is.
