It was scoffed at by NIH and the CDC and now they are all having crow for dinner. This thread intended for folks that aren’t monolithic in their medical approach or thinking.
One of the biggest mistakes Trump made was not realizing his political opponents would literally rather people suffer and die than make him look good. This thread intended for folks that aren’t monolithic in their medical approach or thinking.
Sadly, many of the PEOPLE THEMSELVES would rather suffer and die, than see Trump get credit. One of the biggest mistakes Trump made was not realizing his political opponents would literally rather people suffer and die than make him look good.
If he'd just not said anything Fauci may have not had the incentive to kill HCQ and potentially hundreds of thousands of deaths/bad outcomes.
Either way, for Fauci to go from where he was in 2005 to where he was in 2020 based on bad info is pure evil.
I'm going to stop short of "cure".Sadly, many of the PEOPLE THEMSELVES would rather suffer and die, than see Trump get credit.
I remember when Trump was about to seal a deal with North Korea on their nukes, a liberal on another forum posted that he knew this would be a good deal and ultimately make the world safer. But he added that part of him really hoped the deal wasn't made, cause he knew TRUMP WOULD GET THE CREDIT.
Think about that for a second: This person just admitted that they would be ok with putting their lives at greater risk, if it meant Trump wouldn't get positive press.
I mean, Trump gave the world the cure to covid a year ago. Hell it's the same cure Fauci endorsed 15 years ago.
They rejected it. Even passed laws in many states banning its sale.
The ONLY question left is.....what was their motivation?
Was it simply not wanting Trump to get the credit?
Or was it simply not wanting people to get the cure?
I'm going to stop short of "cure".
But the numbers in that study indicate better outcomes for hundreds of thousands, if not millions, and significantly less death.
I think the question is, how evil is Anthony Fauci? If he blocked a treatment for monetary or medical industry gain that's bad, but if he did it for purely political reasons that's a whole different ball of wax. But either way, he's a doctor, an expert epidemiologist. He funds, reviews and makes decisions based on studies all the time. He had experience with HCQ and knew it had shown success at smaller doses. For him to cite The Lancet study and basically give the liberal media marching orders based on info he knew was bad...well jail isn't good enough for someone like that.
Meanwhile we're told all of Covid, all the bad outcomes, well those were all Trump's fault because someone drank some fishtank cleaner.
I wonder if any libs and "independents" here knew The Lancet retracted that article shortly after HCQ was killed as a therapeutic/prophylactic?

Retraction—Hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine with or without a macrolide for treatment of COVID-19: a multinational registry analysis
After publication of our Lancet Article,1 several concerns were raised with respect to the veracity of the data and analyses conducted by Surgisphere Corporation and its founder and our co-author, Sapan Desai, in our publication. We launched an independent third-party peer review of Surgisphere...www.thelancet.com

You guys know I like messing with you, I find it humorous that you target me with things like this.

not that it matters, nor would you care, but I was the first doctor to take care of coronavirus patients at my hospital, the predominant doctor to take care of them in the intensive care unit, the first one to use hydroxychloroquine, the last one to continue to use hydroxychloroquine, same for zinc.
I can say the exact same thing for dexamethasone, Remdesivir, Convalescent plasma, and interleukin six blocking agents. Sadly I’m not sure any of them really work despite all of these reputable medical sources y’all keep posting, LOL
See, fact remains, there are an equal number of studies saying it doesn’t work as there are that say it does work. Truth is, medical science is never as black-and-white as they’re trying to make it out to be In these reports. If it does work at all the combination is not nearly as effective as they’re making it out to be but preliminary studies tend to be either very positive or they don’t get published. What do you need our multi center placebo controlled large number study to really know if it works or not.
What I find most fascinating about this pandemic is that is the first one that ever occurred in the era of 24 hour news cycle on several Networks competing for viewers in a highly charged political environment. It led to some really fascinating and really stupid and irresponsible reporting and assumptions by large groups of people not the least of which was the hatred that developed for hydroxychloroquine
I didn't post a study, I posted a survey that "found" 65% of doctors would prescribe HCQ to their loved ones if sick. All it means is there are medical professionals that still see some value in it.You guys know I like messing with you, I find it humorous that you target me with things like this.

No actually that wouldn’t count either. It’s a crap study based on a faulty premise fund by a drug company taking advantage of a hysteria to get us to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to “treat” people that were going to get better anyway. Similar to Tamiflu, the “cure” for one of the Influenza Subtypes that we have spent hundreds of millions of dollars on to “cure” people that were going to get better on their own anyway 24 hours later. You mean like this....
In the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in 583 non-hospitalized adults with mild to moderate COVID-19 symptoms, the use of sotrovimab resulted in an 85 percent reduction in the risk of hospitalization or death in high-risk individuals, compared with those in the control group

Sorry, Didn’t really have time to read this in depth but I will point out there is something in medicine called a survey study, LOL, so you post to the study not that it matters just semanticsI didn't post a study, I posted a survey that "found" 65% of doctors would prescribe HCQ to their loved ones if sick. All it means is there are medical professionals that still see some value in it.
And I don't think anything "works"..."works" indicates there's a magic bullet out there. But go back and look at the studies, especially the early ones, that were used to proved HCQ not only didn't work but it was dangerous and caused heart damage. The dosage levels were crazy. That's my problem. Even a modest efficacy in regards to controlling the inflammatory response might have helped many, many people stay off ventilators and perhaps have saved lives. Pharmacists were refusing to fill prescriptions for HCQ during the peak of the pandemic.
And where did the narrative come from? Started with a shitty study (specifically The Lancet study), Fauci then spread the word to the medical community then the media, and then political leaders joined in and it was essentially removed from the arsenal of weapons used to fight bad outcomes.
My outrage was the political nature of a potentially helpful intervention...HCQ isn't "dangerous" (as we were told) if given in appropriate doses in light of the fact that at the time there was literally nothing else physicians had at their disposal to even try. We'll never really know if a significant number of bad outcomes could have been avoided because of politics.
HCQ is still listed by the WHO as an 'Essential Medicine', but somehow it became arsenic according to the left, and could kill you if you managed to even mention it.I didn't post a study, I posted a survey that "found" 65% of doctors would prescribe HCQ to their loved ones if sick. All it means is there are medical professionals that still see some value in it.
