There is a reason why Alabama is sitting atop the college football world. It isn't just Nick Saban - it is an unlimited checkbook and being at a place here Football is king.
Saban can hire Sarkisian after he was fired for being drunk around players, while Fedora at UNC can't do the same with the former Illinois coach, even though it was in a position where he wouldn't be around players - because there is too much backlash.
What caught my eye here though isn't Sark on staff, it is that they have Mike Locksley working for 45K a year. He is one of the top recruiters in college football. They may say he has no personal contact with prospects, but that man has contacts, and I'm sure there are ways around getting him some face time, especially with Mid-Atlantic kids when they get them on campus.
Five former head coaches on staff is a ridiculous amount of 'eyes' on the program.
