Winston's best deal would be to be drafted by a decent franchise with a veteran QB who is in/nearing the twilight of his career. New Orleans, Pittsburgh, San Diego, maybe Arizona or KC would be a decent fit. He needs coaching and guidance and, like many other talented QB's, if he's thrown to the wolves on a bad team, he's done in a year. The guy has a great arm, accuracy and seems to have pocket presence beyond his years. But, as others have pointed out, he has a wonky windup, he doesn't run as good as it appears and he has been inconsistent at best against teams with NFL talent on defense. Combined that with the fact that you have to sell this guy as the face of your franchise and it equals bad news.
One of his problems also is simply timing. There has been an almost unreal amount of talent at QB come into the league over the past three to four years. There are simply not that many teams looking for and needing a QB that cost the money you have to give to a top ten pick. Also, many of the teams with poor records just drafted a QB who isn't the problem. Oakland and Jacksonville aren't drafting QB's, neither is Washington, Minnesota or Cleveland. Tampa will take defense as there is no QB in the draft worth a #1. Atlanta wouldn't draft a QB in the first and I doubt the Giants would either. So you got the Jets, Tennessee, St. Louis or Chicago first round wise that may need a QB change. I just don't see any of the other franchises being too interested in him with the QB's they have right now and/or drafting him above the second round. I think there may be a dozen franchises total that would draft him under any circumstance, and most of those aren't going to hand him first round money.
